So based on my driving experience he suggested to put more camber in the front. We did a 40% camber. I guess this is too much, but better to start at the ends and adjust accordingly.

This changed the car completely and made everything more direct in the initial steering input, so in the exact sense that I was missing before. My other Porsches have always been adjusted as well so this felt like coming home. Dear me, what an impressive change of steering behavior.
I will also test it at high highway speeds. I assume it will be a bit more nervous at very high speeds. So I assume I will be lowering the camber by 20% after thorough testing. Then it will be 20% more than it was. I am guessing that would be perfect for me.

I would always advice everybody to check the alignment of every car. It’s simple and very cheap to do and the results are most of the times quite big.
Very simplified:
  • Camber affects grip in the corners.
  • Caster affects steering and handling
  • Toe affects stability and initial turn in
So, based on your changes, you now have somewhat more "bite" by turn in (front camber), better high speed stability (rear toe in) and the steering feel improved (together with the front camber change and the correction for the front right toe in) when you changed the caster angle for the right front wheel. Follow closely your front tires wear and if it's ok, don't change anything.

Regarding "alignment, simple & very cheap" - I also had a feel that something was off with my CS, went to the manufacturer owned dealership (Niederlassung), had to really convince them to run a test ("the car it's too new", "very expensive work and for sure it doesn't pay off", etc) and after getting the results and seeing why while turning right, the car is not quite "perfect", wanted them to adjust the settings. Nope, "the differences are too small", etc etc. I can live with that, but it could also be perfect. Eh, win some lose some, the car is anyway more of a butcher's cleaver than a surgeon's scalpel. Oh, and they charged a few hundreds € too, just for measuring, no adjustment.

Lol - I dug up these numbers from the youtube video a while ago and had them written out on a sticky note. Funny that sometimes we go down the rat hole of what is faster/fastest when we forget that in the 911 lineup the T has the lowest HP motor with all other things mostly being equal - so inherently it likely won't be faster than anything. I bought it because it was a build more focused on the driving experience which is not necessarily equal to speed. As it there's plenty of speed for public roads to end up in jail.

I don't really care what's faster. I just find it interesting. I think the general consensus or at least assumption would be that a GT4 would be faster than a T but they are very different cars that ultimately end up fairly well matched. Same goes with my GT3. It's old and super fun to drive but it's not really a fast car by today's standards and with the wider track and turbos alone, the T is likely fairly well matched also. But like you mentioned, it's all about the experience, not lap times. The T will never feel like a GT3 and the GT3 will never be as versatile as the T. The GT4 is great if you only want one car.

I'm surprised the 992 S and GTS are that close considering the difference in brakes and power on the GTS, and that the S was a manual while the GTS a PDK.

Hmm, in my opinion the 911 T is the one to get if you only want one car. The GT4 and GT3 are great weekend/track cars if you have a comfortable daily driver.

I can’t believe it but my T is finally on its way!!! Why a vehicle with only 2 options on it took so long is beyond me, but my wife and I are very excited that we will be cruising around in the T shortly. Also getting a bit paranoid about purchasing a vehicle at this price point as I am nowhere near as financially secure as many here are.. I guess this is the time in my life for questionable financial decisions and just enjoy owning a special car and being able to share these times with my lovely and extremely supportive wife. I will have to post a few pics when it arrives and again, thank you to all of the fantastic individuals who helped me at the beginning of this process. This is my first brand new Porsche and only my second, with the other being a long gone 1994 968 cab.. This truly is a great place with so many wonderful people United in their love for Porsche. Wishing everyone here a fantastic day and great driving weather! 👍🏻

As they say, it's about the people. And it only gets better. (But the cars are pretty good too!)

Enjoy it in good health, both of you.
