IGM is magnificent in person. It looked boring as hell to me in the configurator, but I saw it on a number of cars in the factory and holy cow--it has so much going on. Lots of variation and depth. It's truly beautiful.
This IGM GTS looks so good with carbon roof and carbon buckets. Seeing these pics is really making me sad we lost the buckets!
Yeah but this seems to be what the Lock Date system is for. They confirm they can meet the inventory and then begin production.
But I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know enough about what it takes to build major manufactured products. It’s just an extra month or so, at least I hope!
They don't stop building cars if they don't have to. If they can work around supply constraints they will let the 99.9% complete cars pile up until they can finish.
It's VIN time! My production starts on 3.21 still, but finishes 5 days later than originally scheduled, now on 4.2. seems odd, but maybe they are accounting for whatever is causing others delays.
Question for a new owner: I am supposed to pick up my car in the next 10 days from the dealer. How does getting car insurance and financing work for day 1? I’ve got a bank I work with for financing and an insurance company, but will I be making calls to both, on the day of, to activate the insurance and release the financing?

Get the VIN from your dealer, and add the vehicle to your policy now (they should be asking for this already). The bank should wire the money to the dealer.
