Here’s another question that’s bugging me…
My dealer informed me that me collection is delayed while they finish the PDI (post del inspection).
Why aren’t Porsches inspected before they leave the factory??
And for you guys collecting from the factory, is a PDI carried out at the factory?
Is the PDI only carried out on ICE cars? When I collected my Taycan last July there was no mention of a PDI??
Call me paranoid but maybe the dealer’s spinning me a load of BS and the real reason for the delay is due to some Porsche mechanic reversing my car into another one while getting it off the trailer??

I do also think that they have to go through the process of setting up the PCM, program the nav for your region... again due to shipping I think they also reprogram the auto leveling of the headlight system and a few other things.
I'd be curious to see a full list and also curious what the difference is between euro delivery cars and non, as I do think the PDI is shorter for those that took delivery in Europe... at least thats what I've heard since I know the ED cars do get a factory PDI before you drive off
EDIT*

Pics 2 & 3 showed up today so she's finally complete! Looks like I drew the short stick on the tire lottery. Well, I'll fit right in at any Corvette Club, Camaro, etc.. meet-up. lol
Couldn't be more excited about the car but have to admit, this is the one thing I was dreading. Felt like a punch to the junk seeing a set of Goodyear's installed on my new 911. Looking forward to wearing through these so I can make the switch to a set of Michelins. Will be ordering clear side markers today!

Pre-delivery inspection includes removing transport devices, e.g. some cars have a battery isolator, register with DVLA and fit a number plate, check for any computers error codes and correct if necessary, kick-tyre and check pressure, ride around the block, wash and dry, place on the showroom floor for others to admire.
Most cars have a PDI at the dealer (could be a main dealer, not your showroom), but diff vehicles have a diff procedure. I think Porsche likes to keep their customers in suspenders for few days, while your car in the showroom floor looking all glam and ready!

Correct me if I’m wrong but so far not one person on this thread has posted pics of their new T actually sitting on their drive or in their garage..right?
So even though my collection is delayed a week till next Thursday, I might still be the first and therefore it’ll be me collecting the $50 that each of you (probably unknowingly) committed to when you joined this thread👍👍
