Saw this before but it was worth another viewing - it wasn't my production start day when I kicked off that video (just before midnight), but by the time it ended I could say my car's production starts today! Looking forward to production photos this week, even if we've already seen a couple Gentian Blue T the past couple weeks.

Porsche's warranty is labeled as a worldwide warranty. Some details here: https://www.porsche.com/internationa...leinformation/

My sales associate emailed me yesterday saying they can do European Delivery on my Cayman (yes. He said Cayman. Very encouraging attention to detail on a $100k+ order...) In Leipzig in October. No exact date yet. That would mean it might require winter tires which kinda takes a bit of steam out of the experience. Also would mean probably December delivery stateside.

On top of that, my lock date moved up two weeks to April 14th from April 29th. Difficult decisions.

I know the classic response of if you want a canyon carver do 718 GTS and T being more of a grand tourer. Just looking for a healthy discussion and one's though process.
If you don't have the 911 "thing", then the 718 is a great car. I knew if I bought one I would always be looking at the 911, so I skip that step and ordered the Carrera T. It's mostly an emotional thing.

I legitimately did the same thing for the same reason.

It’s true. Less and less is visible as you distance yourself from the car.

I own a 2022 GTS Boxster - and I traded in my 2022 GT4 for an allocation for a T.

the Boxster is the most fun Porsche I have driven hands down. If you drive it at low RPM it is relatively quiet but drive it in and out of traffic or up a mountain road at 4,000 rpm plus and the car changes character and screams and becomes a racecar. It reminds me of the original British small convertible sports cars but on steroids.

but / there are some issues. The cabin is outdated with outdated electronics and screen and it is much smaller than a 911. If you’re a larger guy it is not fun for longer drives. Leg room is less as compared to a 911 which is very comfortable with better electronics and the dashboard is not in your face like it is on the Boxster.

The Boxster has more storage space as well - with two trunks to a 911’s one.

if your a larger guy - and only want one porsche - definitely the 911 -

also on exhaust noise- the Boxster or the GT4 - don’t make the really fun pops and backfires when downshifting to a stop but the 911 does- and I really like these burbles and backfires - which get louder over the first 10,000 miles in a 911 as the exhaust breaks in.

the Boxster has close to 400 hp - more than the Boxster, and is lighter and feels more nimble when driving hard and on a mountain road or driving faster than the freeway traffic the Boxster is definitely more fun and feels like a real sports car but for touring on a long weekend trip that takes hours of driving the 911 is the more comfortable car. I can drive my 911 Targa 4 2022- for 800 miles in a day no problem and the nav is fantastic but I would not do that with the Boxster.

I agree that Porsche should have put this natural aspirated engine from the 718’s in the 911 T - that would have been a wonderful car,

Bottom line - if your a larger guy in height, girth or like to do long driving trips the 911 is the right choice for a one Porsche garage.

and the engine sounds are absolutely better in the 911 -

That is correct, the only package available for the T is the interior packages. Everything else is a la carte.

I didn't even try in Bonn or Köln. Landed in Moers, long story.

Well, then have a lot of fun on Friday! And if possible, post a few pictures of the car...you ordered the same color as mine.

Sold my 7 month old Taycan back to the dealer I bought it from with just 400 miles on the clock at a big fat loss!
Going back to exhausts.
I really hope this action by Porsche in the German parliament (and Ferrari in the Italian one) to put a hold on the total ban on new ICE cars in 2030 while they investigate further synthetic fuels being developed in Chile goes ahead.
It's crazy that ICE engines using synthetic fuels or liquid hydrogen have a smaller carbon footprint than electric cars yet all you hear is electric electric electric

Don't get me started on this subject. Porsche's first car was actually electric and the electric motor is older technology than the combustion engine. Having said that, what's going on with all the lithium ion batteries is nothing anyone is talking about (mining of cobalt, disposal, etc.). Thank Elon for this electric car craze everyone is jumping on.
