What's the latest build date anyone has for a T? July?
Road trip
Driving straight line on the interstate is a lot different than into the mountains and remote river valleys with the T. It’s a Touring car, right? Also versatile as a commuter, around town or on the track. My Porsche dealer pro said Sport mode for canyon, sport plus for track. I like that guidance. 400 miles in and just getting a feel for what the car can do. It’s not meant to be a 993 or RS, even a 992S has a very different feel, but the T is so nicely balanced and definitely a sweet spot. Looking forward to a multi-day adventure in it!

I'll be the first to admit that I am "Ferrari curious". However, for my income bracket, I cannot fathom the running costs on a Ferrari. I know the new ones come with 7 years of maintenance, but it's when stuff breaks that I'd be truly scared.
I've yet to see an F8 or 296 at a non-Ferrari specific track day.
For driving on public roads, a 992 T is plenty. An F8 is overkill, in the same way that a C8 Z06 is. I would even argue that any 992 with >400 HP is overkill. The PDK is a wonderful tool on track, but I find it soulless for weekend driving on public roads. Therein is the "T ethos" that's been talked about so frequently on this thread for the past few years -- a modern, simple-as-possible 911 that's still engaging. "Different horses for different courses."
IMHO, a gated 6 speed F430 would be more engaging to drive than the F8 or any PDK-equipped 911.

Not sure I've seen many updates on the LWG recall. I had my 1 year service done this morning and while at the dealer, they did the test on the windshield and rear glass. They pull up with a suction cup, blow air around the window seals from the inside, and spray soapy water outside looking for leaks. The inspection went well - my glass is good. I didn't want them to wash it so they did their best to tidy up the soap mess. Nice to have that behind me.

Yeah, my dealer said that happened on one of the GT3s they tested on a Friday. The following Monday it was spider webbed. Fingers crossed.

@arrivederci and @Fishah Some of you may well recall that my screen cracked less than 48 hours after the test. (see photo above). To start with my OPC rejected my warranty claim after inspection. So in irritation I wrote a very detailed letter to Porsche UK with photos, totally disagreeing with the warranty manager's conclusions.
The follow up was with my OPC after sales manager who concurred with my position and had a good fight on my behalf to get Porsche to contribute. The outcome is my new OEM Lightweight windscreen is on back order with Porsche and hopefully soon to be fitted. I am now happy again with my OPC in taking a more conciliatory approach to the issue. So the lesson is don't always accept a rejection without a fight.

Best Devon Racer.

I had my T in for its first service the beginning of June. They asked if they could do the warranty test my windows. I asked if the lightweight windows were in stock and they said no. So I declined the test and asked them to call me when the windows are in stock (not likely). Last thing I wanted was to have the car out of service while the weather is nice.
