I could be mistaken...but I don't think the factory recommends this for a new 992 and don't think this is actually from the 992 owner's manual.
If it was my car...I'd stick with the factory recommendation from the manual...but that's just me.
Those more experienced owners usually have their own way of breaking in... the rest of us just follow the builder's recommendations.

Yep...I know who he is.... he must be allowing the engineers to print something different in the 992 owner's manual...
Are GT engines partially broken in on a dyno at the factory before being installed and shipped?

Picked up my Carrera T last weekend from an in state dealer while having an IGM on order set to arrive early July. I couldn’t pass up PTS and I’m a sucker for green so backed out on my order. This one is NATO Olive which I love. One of my favorite PTS. Also has the Carrera exclusive wheels which I didn’t option on my IGM build and regretted it after freeze. I flew up to NorCal with my dad who’s also a Porsche guy (learned to drive stick in his then new 993) to pick up then drove home to SoCal. Went for a canyon run today. What an awesome car. Was worried coming out of a 997.1 C4S would be too digital but it’s not. It’s the best car I’ve ever had. Still keeping the 997 tho

Killer pts color!

I really like reading how much a lot of you like/love the Carrera T and Porsche in general or 911 or 992 or .1 or whatever I'm supposed to call it lol .... you guys give it such rave reviews so it makes me look deeper into mine and try to learn more and try to push the car harder and harder each time I drive it because, so far, I don't really get it. I mean, I like it, it's a pretty well built car it seems and I am happy I got it, mostly because I like the yellow with aerokit. So far, I can't get any performance out of it but I enjoy driving it to work each day. It's much better and more fun than a regular car. It's certainly one step above those.
Burning Brakes
Do the roads in Florida even have any curves?

lol barely! But I make my own curves the best I can.... but you're 100% correct that both the Carrera and the F8 would be much more fun on better roads with less traffic. But I can certainly still feel how the cars are.

Another thing about the T specifically is that it is the only way to get the manual transmission with the base engine, so most of us are driving manuals which really changes the experience even in normal driving. I know your car has the PDK, which I only have limited experience with but I understand that it's an excellent transmission but can sort of feel like a video game/simulator because the shifts are so smooth. I'm sure you already know this but one thing you want to make sure is that you have your drive mode dial on the steering wheel in sport or sport plus if you are looking for performance driving. Otherwise the transmission is in its default normal mode which is prioritizing the smooth relaxed driving style rather than any performance.

well written and I agree entirely... and yes, of course, I'm always in sport or plus... Just like I was with my AMG GTC-- car was in race as soon as I started it. It never once drove in anything but race in 4 years lol.... I would call the Carrera a 'spirited' car and it is fun enough for me as a first time Porsche owner/driver.
I drive the highway to work and back each day and the one thing I notice is I don't feel confident in the car yet at a high speed... I have only got to about 105 mph a few times because it doesn't feel stable enough for me to trust it yet and I'm worried about the brakes and steering response to go much faster than that... I like getting some of my cars up over 150 and feel CONFIDENT and smooth... I'll keep pushing further and further and see

Spirited is a great way to describe it. It's also my first Porsche coming from the AMG world and it's a totally different experience! but certainly exactly what I was looking for.
