992 Carrera T Club
Burning Brakes
I've never driven a Ferrari, but the T feels very stable at 150mph I can assure you of that.
But yeah, around town on straight roads it's pretty much just a regular car. Rowing the gear and revving it out for the noise is enough to keep me mildly entertained. It's mountain roads and open desert sweepers where the car really comes alive. Hammering from apex to apex on a curvy mountain road and feeling the rear engine squat as you climb to redline is an awesome feeling.

Love it- I did actually post on FerrariChat about how I kinda think the Carrera is almost more fun than the F8 with so much less power cos it feels like you're actually using all the power it has.... the F8 for example just gets to 8k rpm in like 1 -2 seconds per gear so you're going so fast, real fast and don't get to enjoy the rpm climb- you're at 160-180mph in a blink of an eye... I mean, the F8 is definitely a sick car and a different kind of fun but I'm enjoying the Carrera's spirit. It's just so much different than I'm used to is all. They make a good combo of cars fur sure
Yep, and if you are looking for more power, these motors can make substantial gains with just a tune and even more with bolt on upgrades and turbos. I plan to enjoy mine stock for now but it's nice to know your car has a lot of untapped potential.

I could be mistaken...but I don't think the factory recommends this for a new 992 and don't think this is actually from the 992 owner's manual.
If it was my car...I'd stick with the factory recommendation from the manual...but that's just me.
Those more experienced owners usually have their own way of breaking in... the rest of us just follow the builder's recommendations.

Sorry, edited because I saw I already stated my thoughts on oil and break in, in this thread. Short term memory loss. Apologies.

Carrera T weight
Took my '24 Carrera T to a CAT scale yesterday. Weighed in at 3220 lbs. I filled up the car at that location and put 11 gallons of gas in. That meant there was 5.9 gallons sitting in the tank when weighted. At 6 lbs per gallon, the 11 gallons adds 66 lbs making the total curb weight 3,286 lbs. That's 32 lbs heavier than the initial marketed curb weight of 3254 (which I believe includes a full tank). The 32 lbs is mainly the difference between the Lithium and AGM battery as mine came with an AGM. My config: manual trans, rear axle steering, 4-way sport-tex seats, rear seat delete, no sunroof, no rear wiper, PDLS+ lights, leather dash and steering column, heated GT sport steering wheel, sport design pkg w/side skirts, model desig delete, no storage pkg, clearmask on front and XR Prime tint on all glass, power-folding mirrors, surround view, Bose, LCA, no front plate, Tire sealant/air compressor and front carpet floor mats were in car when weighed.

I drive the highway to work and back each day and the one thing I notice is I don't feel confident in the car yet at a high speed... I have only got to about 105 mph a few times because it doesn't feel stable enough for me to trust it yet and I'm worried about the brakes and steering response to go much faster than that... I like getting some of my cars up over 150 and feel CONFIDENT and smooth... I'll keep pushing further and further and see

Same here. I’ve had my T up over 120 on the longest straight at High Plain Raceway. Felt like normal highway speed in any regular car. No hint of instability.
The T or any 992 should have no stability issues whatsoever getting to 150 (or beyond if it is not limited). Any instability would be the fault of the driver, not the car.

I've had my T up to 145 mph on the back straight at the Glen before stomping on the brake and turning in to the Inner Loop. The car is rock solid and never gives a hint of unease no matter the type of corner, straightaway, on-ramp or whatever turn I'm negotiating in it. The last HPDE I was in, I was moved up to the White Group from the Green Group (faster guys). The second day, 2nd run, it had rained hard an hour before so the track was soaked. I started last in a group of 23 cars and passed every one of them. I wasn't counting, my instructor was though. Here's a pic from that session

the F8 inspires confidence where I KNOW I’ll be perfectly fine if I have to slam on the brakes or change multiple lanes in a moment, — I’ll keep pushing the Carrera and as I read above, I’m thinking I’ll find that trust in the car
