992 Carrera T Club
It appears I have fallen victim to the lightweight/GT3 glass issue!!! (2023 911T built spring of 2023)... 1 year old with ~6k miles driven
Yesterday I went to grab something out of my car (which had been sitting for about 24 hours) and when I went to close the door I heard a very loud crunch... opened it back up and found my driver window completely splintered as pictured below!
I had just been to the dealer in June after receiving the recall letter. They said my glass seemed fine, but here we are...
But in other news, It turns out I have Rubystar Hydrangeas at my cape house

Just curious, do you have the door window tinted ?
Nope... I do not, and for the very reason of trying to avoid this issue. I was told by my dealer that the lightweight glass saw more issues when tint was added due to the heat that is applied, so I opted out of tint on this car to avoid issues with the lightweight glass... didnt seem to matter.

Just curious when is your production date ?
Just left dealer for 1st year oil change and glass recall test. Passed the test. They said to date there have been no glass failures at there location. My windows are tinted also.

My T arrives late July. I am considering tinting the windows for one reason: keeping the sun off the leather dash without a solar screen. I would go with the very lightest tint. Do any of you have any experience with window tinting and does it indeed provide protection without putting up the screen?
Thanks

No not necessarily I'm just guessing it will happen to my car at least since it was built around the same period of time as toph's car

Mine was a November build and the dealer said no testing necessary. I read in another thread it got resolved Oct/Nov.
