I had just been to the dealer in June after receiving the recall letter. They said my glass seemed fine, but here we are...

But in other news, It turns out I have Rubystar Hydrangeas at my cape house

Just curious, do you have the door window tinted ?

Nope... I do not, and for the very reason of trying to avoid this issue. I was told by my dealer that the lightweight glass saw more issues when tint was added due to the heat that is applied, so I opted out of tint on this car to avoid issues with the lightweight glass... didnt seem to matter.

I think it was built in March/April 2023 (I already forget the exact date)... and then picked up in Germany in June

My T arrives late July. I am considering tinting the windows for one reason: keeping the sun off the leather dash without a solar screen. I would go with the very lightest tint. Do any of you have any experience with window tinting and does it indeed provide protection without putting up the screen?
Thanks

I went with the 3M Crystalline but in the 70 (I was originally thinking of 90 which is the lowest, but between the two it so not any darker, so 70 it was). No issues so far, but I've only had it on since May 20th so just over a month.

Ah that sucks toph. I was told the same when I took my car for service last month, that they did the test and it "passed" and that they had not seen any failures that needed replacing. So far I've had no glass issues but sounds like it's bound to happen eventually.

Bound to happen eventually? Your saying that all of the lightweight glass cars around the world will have cracked glass?

No not necessarily I'm just guessing it will happen to my car at least since it was built around the same period of time as toph's car

Don't do it with the LWNG no matter how much the glass shop says they're capable of.

I tinted my windows and have had no issues. Looks great and definitely keeps it cooler.
