And her new home. Finally I can look directly into her eyes, although the headlights should have been the black leds…

So my T was without RAS and without the steering plus. It felt very good.
Now I have the RAS and the steering plus. You will hear pretty soon from me.
You have RAS on what car? Yes waiting for your feedback. Soon?

All this is directly related to the feel the electric steering gives: steer response. You need to consider all those points. When you do, and change them like I do, it goes from very good to almost perfection.
So you think once it's tuned it's better than a good hydraulic? My question could be about either configuration, but I would be interested in what you think about the difference between the two options.

I do plan on tuning most of the things in the car to my liking. I do my own string alignments on my Lancer Evolutions, and getting set up to do the same on my 992 is high on the list.

So I drove the red 992 T without RAS and without electronic steering plus for 12 months. Just bought this second hand 992 T with RAS and with electronic steering plus. Review will follow.

I tried keeping my phone in other areas while driving but really like it in view, for whatever reason. I'm extremely happy with this Rennline product. I followed a tip from another member and did not remove the entire trim piece. Rather, I only loosened one torx screw (the one in the glove box on the left, closest to the install location). This allowed just enough give to slide in. Once I retightened the torx screw, it was nice and tight. Hope it stays that way but I can always do the regular install if it doesn't.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts. I opted to go without either - as you mentioned earlier, I love without but don't know what I don't know.

@Macboy big congrats! Can't wait to hear your comments on RAS and power steering plus. The new car looks outstanding.

100%

One issue is that many asking about RAS have never owned or driven a 911 so it can't be easy to value or even understand the debate.

And the RAS battle continues........

Those without RAS say the car is more pure, possesses better feel, and is lighter. Shock.

Those with RAS say it's great. Again, shock.

I've had both on my two 991.2 Ts and it wouldn't be a deal breaker either way. If ordering new, I would tick the box. If buying used, RAS presence would not be an overly significant option (FAL on the other hand is something I don't require therefore don't want.) The continued preaching of cars with RAS being somehow less feelsome, heavier (14-17lbs on a 3300lb car? Eat one less cheeseburger), and less pure is purely an individual decision. Quoting the latest YT review/gush/lovefest of a model that ISN"T a T has little relevance. Quoting AP's latest stance is also subject as he has always and will always promote the latest as the best (why wouldn't he? It's his job).

It's an option. You don't have to tick the box. But doing so doesn't and shouldn't get you demoted in the T-army.

Default Here’s my build. Locked. Hopefully arriving in June.

My first Porsche. Planning for it to be a daily driver. Was wanting an S, was offered a GTS but seemed like too much car for me, and this allocation fell in my lap. Had to rush and finalize the build over a weekend, watched countless hours of YouTube and read a gazillion forum posts. I’m sure there will
be things I may have wanted to add/delete but I’ll have to save that wisdom for the next one.

I didn’t check the RAS box on my 992 but did on my wife’s Cayenne. Definitely shortens the turning radius and makes it easier in tight parking situations, something that I dont care about on the 992 but is nice in the SUV. If I were to check the box on RAS it would be to use on the track and I don’t track it. The conversation continues 🤣🤣

I owned a 996 C2 cab back in 2005 ,before getting into the rally stuff. My understanding is there will always be some people upset with anything Porsche changes.
