Love the way it turned out with lots of leather with the lizard green stitching, 18-way seats, and Burmester stereo. My son and I split the allotted track time with Kurt on the newly opened West course featuring curves from the Nordschleife, Laguna Seca, and VIR. Our provided car was a 911S with PDK as no manuals are available at PECATL. The track is fairly short and the curves are somewhat compressed and very technical. We also did launch control and the ice hill... very entertaining.
After track time we had an exceptional lunch in 356, received a bag of swag including a thumb drive with lots of delivery photos, and a suggested route home to Ohio which included the Tail of the Dragon.
This was our first time in a 992 Carrera T and the car did not disappoint. I was coming from a 5-year ownership of a 991.2 GT3 which was a brilliant DE car but was too harsh and loud for me to enjoy as a daily driver. The T is quieter by an appreciable amount, with a more compliant ride.. The stereo was a major upgrade over my previous Bose. The T performed brilliantly in all settings, including the Dragon, Georgia, and Tennessee backroads, and Interstate 75.
In summary the car was superb, and will be happily used as a daily driver. It will also see track time at MidOhio next month. BTW It is equipped with Goodyear tires and they were sticky, responsive, and fairly quiet. No complaints at all. I am excited to see what this car can do beyond its break-in period!
I am thrilled you had such a fun time! I am also happy to see you had Ross as well he is an amazing guy, I had Ross and Mark as my PECAL people, and I am shocked to hear you were not allowed to drive the manual S they had? I drove a manual s on July 26th when I picked up my T, I wonder if it was unavailable because it needed service. I also drove tail of the dragon and road 143 and 28 and 129 for 4 days after I got my T, I put 900 miles on the car in those days, and i had a blast, I am sure you were just as blown away, especially since you had a GT3 already, it should honestly feel 80% like a gt3, that is what I belive anyway.

I might consider FAL if I you ordered SD bumper, otherwise, skip it. I lowered my car 20mm and still have no issues.
I have only one issue with scraping even with the lift extended, but I do not know how large the drop-offs and driveways and everything you have where you are living, but honesty get it so you don't regret it and in 10 years be annoyed you have to avoid driveways and entrences and exits because you scrape and take off the front splitter, especially if you get it lowered

I have a window squeak, on my driver side, what should I do to get rid of it?

- Power steering plus – my SA is strongly recommending. Is it true you can option and then turn off later if you don’t want it? I prefer heavy steering.

- Still considering FAL – does this require any periodic / yearly maintenance? Never had a car with it before. Just seems like it could be a big issue down the road if it goes out.
Thanks! This will be a big upgrade from my 997s.
extended range tank – – get it, no brainer. It’s inexpensive and I can’t think of a reason to not get it.

power steering plus – – personally, I don’t like it and I don’t want the extra nanny.

front axle lift – – this really depends on where you live, but most will not need this. Even for most steep driveways, if you approach slowly, at the right angle, you will be fine.

Does anyone else notices that every time they start the car, it idles at 1.5k for like 3 minuets then it goes to 800 and the engine is at operating temp? Does that mean it is warmed up? even when its 100 degrees out and the engine is at say 140 F, it will idle at 1.5k rpm till it gets to 194 degrees F, then go down to 800, If your engine is at 194 but your oil temp is at like 120, what temp do you need to wait till to rev at 4k rpm or higher?

I am just going by your photo, of course, and I’m not there in person, but it looks like you will be perfectly fine without front axle lift. Just approach slowly at a sharp angle. After you have done it a few times, you will feel comfortable.

Just for clarification, I am not against front axle lift. Depending on where you live, it can be quite helpful and perhaps even necessary. I just don’t think it is needed in most instances.

Mostly time and use. I was spraying a detaililng spray that's slippery on the window too, to help.

In one word: emissions. Getting the cats warmer, faster posts better emissions numbers for manufacturers.

Thank you very much, I will do that then! It is strange that its only on the driver's side and was not caught during quality control, I also have not told many I have a piece of something in the base coat of my car, it's like a small dot about the same diameter as a regular twist pen hole, but its still there, then I had a malformed piece in the back of my car behind the seats, only the malformed thing is being taken care of by Porsche

I see, but what is strange I had an 02 boxster that had a high idle for a little but not as long. But honestly its nicer that it warms up so quick, not gonna like, it was a pain waiting like 20 minuets for the car engine temp to be high enough that you could actually drive the speed limit in your car and not have to short shift and then drive 10 over the speed limit to be at 3k rpm

I am curious if anyone has ordered the bespoke center armrest with the 911 Carrera T script? Since we were unable to acquire PTS I am looking for something subtle to differentiate myself from the other local Shark Blue T.

I think these are new options. Pretty cool!

The picture doesn’t work. Need more pics of your car anyhow. So keep them coming.

You have answered your own question. Leave it. I had it on my 992 4S. I don’t have it on my T. And I don’t miss it. I did hear it was a software feature so you should be able to turn it on and off again. But I don’t think Porsche offers it. When doubting and you want heavier steering: don’t chose it. More analogue driving character. And you can play with the camber for a lighter steering feel if need be.

Your driveway looks to be at least 1 1/2 car widths wide? If so, you'll easily be able to angle it when descending towards the street. Mine has maybe 2' on either side of the 992, and there's a sidewalk curb (versus your neighborhood where the grass is level with the street.)

I would suggest finding a local 992 (either PCA member or dealership) to test your driveway. It'll take <5 minutes to decide whether or not to splash out $1500 for FAL since it can't be retrofitted AFAIK.
