The T is $3-4k less than my S when comparably built, still missing some options not available on the T and while it gets the S's PTV, manual, PASM Sport, etc. as a way to bring the base in line with the S, it is still missing out on the S engine for little savings and far too many compromises. Add to that whatever ADM and wait the T brings with it, and I can't understand needing to get this car.

“This new T is not much cheaper than my 2020 S. I can’t see why anyone would buy it.” That’s something I’ve heard recently. Apples and oranges. You have to build new models in the configurator because the base prices have been going up rapidly.

It's also just odd that people get upset about other people buying a car that apparently makes their own car look like great value. For me it's the great thing about Porsche. Yes, they make us pay for it, but we can spec the car we want, not the car someone else wants.

So just get the S then.

Ethos option was pulled from the configurator, supply chain issues.

Kind of surprising there isn't a "T Ethos Package" for $8930 that removes even more components in interest of weight savings.

jokes aside, I wish there were options like radio delete and A/C delete like they used to offer for the gt3. I’d prob keep A/C but I’d dump the radio/nav in a heartbeat.

A lot of core functionality is locked into the PCM - no way around it.

I don't know, I'm not sure I could live without my music in the background. Definitely couldn't live without A/C!

Dumping the A/C would save some weight but radio/nav?

I think all those speakers, the wiring harnesses and the PCM head unit could easily add up to a 15 - 20lbs savings or so. The problem is you wouldn't be able to get rid of the PCM since all the cars functions are controlled from there. They'd have to rethink it all and incorporate it into the instrument cluster.

Not sure if I'm remembering correctly but I think the 991.2 T had a radio delete option.

*EDIT - Think it might have been before the 991 now I think about it.

It did. Going back to a 991.2 it’s amazing how little I even look at the PCM compared to the 992. It’s much more peripheral to the experience.

A “radio delete” in a 992 would look awesome. Sort of similar to the old cars. My 993 has a radio delete - it’s clean and focused feeling.
