@Shortseller Great you got a good sale on your F80 DCT of course the G series have the full auto box. You are right about the hydraulic steering was much better than the electric now throughout the range. All to do with keeping emissions lower I think. Having said that on my M2 CS it is tuned by the M department to something that is basically on par with the old hydraulics, far superior to a standard M2 Comp.
The hype on the T I think is really justified and from my mornings experience with one at the Porsche Silverstone Experience, the car almost defied physics, its ability to carry speed through tricky corners was phenomenal and to also change direction. I would agree that S55 engine has a fabulous torque band it hardly matters which gear you are in, the car just explodes when you hit the loud pedal.
I guess you can't wait until after Christmas. Mine should be here in a couple of weeks now, currently sitting at Emden.
Best Devon Racer.

Look forward to you sharing your experience after delivery here on the T thread. Happy and safe motoring.

The best advice I received is when shifting down from 7th is to let the gear selector return to the neutral position (where it naturally wants to center) and then shift it over to 6th or 5th from there. This way 7th is locked out.
I find the opposite of what you said is true: When shifting out of 7th into 6th, I had to be slightly more heavy-handed and deliberate to avoid the shifter centering, which means the gear selector wants to go into 4th and not 6th. Now that I've done it a few times, it's rote.
But as the auto journalist Jonathan Lieberman say: that 7 speed transmission is just weird. lol
Yep. I’ve only ever used 7th gear during long highway stretches, at which times I’ve never had a problem. Otherwise, I don’t ever think about it. 🤷🏻♂️
@Vernin In answer to your questions:
First Gear = 42 mph @7,500 rpm
Second Gear = 71 mph @ 7,500 rpm
Third Gear = 103 mph @ 7,500 rpm
Fourth Gear = 138 mph @ 7,500 rpm
Fifth Gear = 174 mph @ 7,500 rpm
Sixth Gear = 182 mph @ 6,608 rpm
Seventh Gear = 182* mph @ 5,186 rpm * claimed
RPM in 7th at 70/80 mph = 1995 /2280
I would actually imagine the top speed in 7th would be slightly less than that obtained in 6th gear
These figures are from the Autocar road test in Issue 6582 Volume 317 / No 12 dated 30th August 2023
Hope this helps you Vernin,
Best Devon Racer.

Hi both
All good this end and can happily confirm that your car is definitely coming in Paint To Sample in Mint Green
The order number is B86164
Once the car reaches a certain point behind the scenes (which would likely be at the end of this month) you will receive an email that explains the app process of tracking the build
So, whenever that 2024 PTS deadline was, it looks like we made it.
