Fully agree as a current multiple BMW owner and a purchaser of the marque for nearly 40 years.

Yea... I had a 2022 M4 and I was shocked at how boring it was.

I am so very sorry to hear that, I would have loved it if you could have gotten Ruby Star Neo. I also think it is a shame your better half vehemently rejected such a fantastic color, but what can you do, SIlver is still a strong color.

You are exactly correct, I took all the modern "Sport" BMW on Circut de Americas when BMW had their event there in August, and all the bmws felt very heavy, with no real feeling in the wheel, I would often catch the pdk in the wrong gear, and they just were not up to par. I know the older ones are really good, but the new BMWs are luxury cars, and not track ready anymore.

BMW no longer uses a DCT. The F87 M2 (prior generation) was the last M car to use a DCT. Everything M or non-M is a ZF 8 speed auto now.

I see, well that Is one downside to their cars removed, I believe I was using the 2022 or 2023 M series on the track in the highest level performance mode allowed by the BMW and the BMW people there.
As If they were 2022 and 2023 cars for the 2023 event https://mtdnotify.eventsbmw.com/cota?token=bmwusa this was the event and it was this year.
I had to depress the shift paddles sometimes because it was just completely in the wrong gear, nothing wrong or against BMW, but they cannot hold a candle to the performance of a 911 especially for the M series costing 69k-103k

BTW, The last model year for the F87 M2 was 2021 so highly doubtful you drove anything with a DCT.

I can live with both, but I like manuals in my fun cars.
