992 Carrera T Club
Apologize in advance since I am sure this has been discussed before... I added Surround View to my build... is it worth it? I have a similar capability on my Ford Bronco and really like it but that is a big vehicle... on my T for sure I will not park it tight spots to get a doors dinged... What I thought Surround View will come in handy on the T is avoiding to hit the bottom of the front spoiler to the cement block they put in the parking spots, but if the regular camera (without Surround) will detect that then it might not be worth it... thank you for any feed back if you have it...

cheap insurance from hitting curbs - and backing out of parking spaces and also making sure your in the middle of a parking space when backing in. But we all lived without it

now, if you do a lot of city driving, parking houses, and in general afraid of curbing your wheels, you will appreciate it. The car is quite wide for some european standards.
so, net net it depends on your circumstances. Hope that helps..

If you have big driveway and mostly drive outside of cities, you do not need it imho.

Agreed!
I considered surround but in the end just opted for park *** front and rear @ £533 saving me £800 ($1200) which I’ll put towards refurbishing any scratched alloys if ever needed.
🤞I haven’t scratched an alloy in 15 years through a combination of staying concentrated and parking 6” away from the curbs.

Quick question about tyres ... mine came with the Goodyear F1 tyres and overall seem OK, nice and quiet on the motorway too.
However I generally put Michelin Pilot 4S on my cars and I'm just trying to figure out whether it is worth it.
I don't track - just daily driver and spirited weekend driving.
Anyone had any comparitive experience on the T?
cheers
Craig

Do not get rid of them. The fact that I started this poll and conversation ought to tell you how important tires are to me and how disappointed I was that I got the GY. Much of my disappointment arose from the mediocre reviews for the Asymmetric 3s online. However, the N rated version are clearly another tire that has no reviews online. After 1,200 mi on them in both dry and wet and pushing them to the limit of grip several times, I can say with full confidence that I'm very glad I kept them. They are on part if not better than MP4Ss. They are supper grippy, they don't get greasy after repeated abuse and they temps don't vary as much as with the Michelins. What I can't discern is road noise and how they will age. These cars have a lot of road, and specifically tire, noise so it's difficult to say if the tires are noisy or if it's just the car. Also, 1,200mi are a poor indication of how the tire will operate with 5 or 10k mi. All of this to say that I'm pleasantly surprised and glad I didn't spend the time or effort to swap them. I highly recommend you give them a chance.
As for temps, I'm still playing with them but expect to land somewhere between 29 and 33 front with +3-4 lbs in the rear. I didn't check tires until 700mi and they were at 35/39 which is on the higher side for performance and they still performed well.

I just replaced the stock cats with 250 cell sports cats on my T.
It’s quite a big improvement on the sound, the exhaust is more present now, you hear some turbo whistle and the overall sound ist just so much better then before.
here are some pics of the install

yeah I get that, also the guru I think says you can redline at 900 miles so if you would like do that! I know it’s a long time for many to get to 1872 miles so go nuts I think!

Now, on to your cats. WE NEED VIDEO/AUDIO!!! Outside the car, ideally compared to before/after if possible. If not, obviously just after clips will work. I'm considering cats with OEM muffler box.
Thanks!
