I'm leaving for Miami on the 5th (which is ironically also my birthday) and would like to drive mine before then, so I'm definitely a fan of this dream...

I had dreams like that when I was in my early teens.

Not huge news, but it seems the prior mentioned concern of back logs of Macans at the port, hasn't inhibited dealer arrivals that much. Looks like more '21 Macans have officially been showing up on dealer lots today, with Hennessy confirming a sale of a '21 GTS on social media a few hours ago...I know its not a 992, but frankly any movement IMO is good news...

Thanks...been on active duty since shortly before 9-11 and this is my "retirement" car...had a 991.1 which I was going to keep till the wheels fell off but wife said after 20+ years and all the deployments overseas and such that I deserve the upgrade if I wanted.

I’m going out on a limb and SPECULATING that we get some good news today. That our 992’s will be released from port limbo 1 week early—-today... Fingers crossed. 🤞

If production does get stalled in the coming months I would expect they might push some releases and deliveries from Q4 2020 to Q1 2021 so Q1 isn’t a bloodbath for their financials.

I’ll counter and say I’d be VERY surprised if they did that, not only would it be a customer service nightmare given the cars are already here, but that would involve somehow getting the government to selectively delay approvals...Plus intentionally delaying sales reporting for balance sheet purposes definitely isn’t on the up and up from a regulation stand point...

They are submitting EPA apps when they want, even on the Cayman and Boxster base models they’ve had full EPA approval for a while but still are holding them at port. They are using the EPA approval process as an excuse.

So let me get this straight, you think that Porsche is lying about delays in EPA/CARB approval to delay shipping cars to dealers and bolster their Q1 revenue numbers? That's pretty thin.... Considering the 21 Cayenne and Macan just got EPA/CARB approved these last couple weeks and are now starting to arrive at dealers, why wouldn't they hold those up since they're now the bread and butter volume vehicles for Porsche? Why aren't they holding those up for better Q1 numbers? I love a good conspiracy theory....

That’s not what I’m saying at all, I said “IF” production gets shut down, you might see some release and on sale dates get bumped into 2021. Not sure why that is so far fetched? They still need to finish Q4 strong and they can do that with Cayennes, Macan’s and some 992’s.

Was seconds away from making the same point about the Cayennes and Macans, and frankly that’s the biggest glaring oversight in this conspiracy...I can see it now, Porsche financial brains sitting around the table saying “So our Q1 numbers are likely in the tank, let’s delay release of our lowest volume model to save the day...” makes no sense.

As a business owner myself I'm just going to say that makes no sense. With the coming uncertainty with the latest spike in cases they would want to maximize cash on hand than on improving balance sheets in 3 months. As I tell my staff the promise of a potentially great sale later doesn't trump making a good sale now. There is no logical reason to not convert the items they have money spent on, our cars, to liquid capital ahead of the next 6 months of covid winter
