A number of folks keep mentioning that it is "perfectly fine" and "totally normal" for these cars to sit outside for months without maintenance or being driven but I just don't buy it one bit.
Remember you have a four year warranty to protect you and you could also ask for a PPI to be sure. I am sure that your local dealer would love to find something they can fix under warranty

Yeah, but tons of cars sit on lots for way longer than this...I get it tho I wouldn't be happy either with a personally ordered car just sitting there...mine isn't supposed to come until January and it will sit in a garage for a few months then...haha

One of the reasons I'm ok the payment and delivery is after election. If **** hits the fan horribly, I can back out.

There could and probably will be a period of uncertainty post election and the markets could react in all sorts of ways. At the end of the day though things will return to normal and just be careful giving up on a build that you worked on, waited for and waited for and waited for only to find out that getting another slot becomes near on impossible and that someone walked off with a great deal on your build because he took advantage of the period of uncertainty. I picked up an awesome deal on a macan in the first couple of weeks of Covid for that very reason

I'm not so sure returns to 'normal' are a given these days...

I totally hear you and without getting political I cannot underscore my existential concern for this young country..Throw into this mix, the path that Corona takes this winter and it could make for challenging times but at the end of the day I do believe we will endure and life will return to a "new normal" but even within the new normal I still think there will be a place for fancy fast cars and toys. Even the stock market seems less and less phased by the potential outcome of this election,

If you are right however and we are revisiting our version of Mad Max, dont you think a fast car will give you an advantage

Haha, honestly I live in a major city and things like carjacking (911s a pretty good target) concern me as incidences thereof are increasing...also 'activists' have been doing more and more property damage...etc.

I live in Chicago, its greatly overblown. Also The criminal elements are taking advantage of the protests.. not the actual activists. But let’s keep this thread clean.

Well, I live in the city and disagree from my recent experiences...as I saw a carjacking take place right outside my building very recently...I have also seen many incidences of property damage happening around protests by whatever you want to call those people. I do have my concealed carry FOID and a manual so I'm as ready as I can be to escape carjacks!

I agree. Can't be a head in sand guy these days unfortunately and especially in the major cities. I wish things like having a really nice car and driving it around were as care free as they were not so long ago...heck the same with just walking around at certain times. Ugh.

For those with a car sitting in San Diego, CA... I have a 2021 992 currently in the Atlantic ocean headed to San Diego and I told my sales rep about all of you that are patiently waiting while your car just sits there.

Here's his response:
California Air Resources Board have to certify the 2021 911 – Porsche has a tentative ETA of November 6th for that to happen.

I too have a car underway to San Diego on the Glovis Spring with an ETA 10/19. Final Destination San Francisco with EPA release on 10/6.

How would CARB hold up the other 49 states delivery?

I think 12-13 other states have adopted carb certification and I think generally carb certication occurs at the same time as epa certification.
