2021 Delivery Date?
#1906
I think for me the take home message is that in the future, although there is a benefit to getting a car before the MY actually starts that maybe the best thing to do is to order in November December for delivery in the early spring. People ordering now or even those just going into build will likely not even be aware that this fiasco happened. Given that this is not the first time this has happened I think we can expect ongoing issues until VAG and Porsche have paid royally for their transgressions

I don't follow VW or Audi, so was wondering if they have anywhere near the problems that Porsche has, or is this Porsche being Porsche and haggling too much over fines to protect their precious margins?

100% this. Never ordering a late fall early winter build from Porsche again. I knew about past EPA/CARB issues but thought it would be a non-issue this time around given the 2021 is a carryover from 2020 (and this nonsense already happened last year) and I was wrong. Never ordering again unless the vehicles are already approved for sale in my state. That or I won't order again from a CARB state. I plan to get a place in NH at some point in the future and will do business with Nashua or Stratham. I'd hate to take business away from Norwell and Chambers as both have treated me excellently since day 1. Westwood on the other hand, screw them. They are terrible.

Just got an email back from Bill McDuffee at CARB:
Hello Mr. Xxxx,
There was a long delay in getting part of the approval process completed. I’m trying to get the Executive Order approved as soon as possible. Hopefully by the end of next week.
Best regards, Bill McDuffee
So looks like we’re definitely getting that 12/4 date pushed back based on this.

You guys have way more intestinal fortitude than I do. I just got my C2 this week -- three weeks early and exactly 90 days from the day I wrote the deposit check. I have to say that in the last few weeks I was questioning how "exciting" this process actually is compared to searching out a car that is 95% close, and just picking it up. I tend to romanticize things like this that don't always work out for me. The anxiety from waiting the last few weeks confirms there is no way I'd still be in the game dealing with what you guys are. Bless your hearts. I hope it's all over soon.

In any case, figured I would close out my 4 month 10x/day check-in on this thread with a few pics of the car which arrived an hour ago. Clear turn signal lights are in the garage and will go on later, unfortunately along with the 20-21 winter wheel set from Suncoast. Best of luck to all of you. PS -- I still have no firm confirmation of any service plan from PCNA, but have a call into the dealer and intend to stay on him for that
