You attach rare earth magnets to the inside of the bumper and to OEM license plate bracket.

K & J Magnetics.

Bumper magnets: BX0X06-N52
Bracket magnets: DX08TP-N52

Lived for about 45 yrs in CA and moved to AZ 3 yrs ago and was suprised at how relaxed it is here as well. No front plate needed - they don't even issue one, no MC helmets, open carry of any legal weapon allowed and you can easily get a concealed weapon permit. I guess AZ literally is the wild west.

Oddest thing for me to see was going to an outdoor event and seeing tons of people piled into the bed of a truck driving to the event and cops not caring at all. In Cali, if anyone rode in the bed of a pickup truck, they'd be pulled over immediately.

The best part about AZ might be that driving 60+ in 45 (or 90 in 65) zones has been normalized in some places and speed limits are more like speed guidelines really

thats unfortunate. Check out Bumper Plugs. i lost a front plate off a tow hook holder and I said never again. I just don’t have a front plate now though illegal in NY.

LOL. Yeah! That's me! drive 60 in most 45 zones and 90 on the fwy! Cops just don't care it seems (knock on wood).

I used JB Weld Plastic Bonder to adhere the magnets to the license plate bracket and 3M double sided tape with a 30 lb rating to adhere the magnets to the inside of the bumper skin. I used four magnets on the license plate bracket and four on the inside of the bumper. You can see the license plate magnets attached to the bracket in the pic. The other pic shows the bumper about to be partially removed. I positioned a bench in front of the bumper for support and slid the bumper onto it just far enough to get my hand inside to attach the tape and magnets. However, I suggest disconnecting the wiring to the bumper and removing the bumper completely as it will facilitate more accurate magnet placement. Also, next time I would position the two lower magnets on the license plate frame to correspond with a more optimal location for the magnets inside the bumper.

Holy ****, I would pay for this... if only you were located in Toronto, Canada. Such an elegant solution too.

Jason, you are a hero! I have been considering affixing my front license plate with the Carbonio device. I am wondering if instead of using the high strength tape supplied with the Carbonio device to attach their bracket, might one use the high strength magnets of your solution? This would eliminate the step of removing the front bumper, which intimidates me!

Wouldn't you still need to affix the magnets onto the black plastic (where the carbonio mounts) with adhesive?

I came to that conclusion after posting my reply. So, no real advantage.
