I officially joined the waitlist for a 992s Cab (manual) allocation last week. We (my wife and I) went down to Porsche of the Main Line yesterday to chat with our sales guy, do some color comparisons and be sure we're happy with our spec. Currently, the waitlist is slated at about a year before I can officially lock in my build, but I was assured I could get in with a late .1 build if the .2 details are announced and are not what we want. I was on the fence between PTS Oak, Yachting, Amethyst or standard Aventurine. Luckily they had a turbo in Oak that I was able to park side by side with Aventurine. After comparing the two, we preferred the more subdued AV green, which is a nice way to save $10k for other options. I am strongly considering the Exclusive Manufactur two tone interior option with black over cognac, or black over cohiba. That option is currently not activated on the configurator. Does anyone remember how much of an upcharge that was? I'm already in for Truffle+chalk and the 930 package, so the delta to go to exclusive is probably worth it. We will be moving from a 991.2 manual cab in GT Silver over Espresso.
Just arrived in TYD this morning when I woke. Looks like she was built starting last Wednesday and completed Sunday. Friday mornings picture. Monday Morning (7am EST). Someone was busy this weekend.
Car is a few days out from port and finally got the production pics with the update. Can't wait to see the arctic grey in the sun!
ive seen a few at my local dealer... Really beautiful and unique color. In some lights it has the Nardo Grey look, but in others a beautiful blue shows through
My GTS started production 11/28. Still hasn’t made it to CP8.0. Got the completed side shot (missing aero kit) and the date on the windshield when you zoom in is December 4th. Definitely not prioritizing GTS production. And right now my new CO8.0 date is 04/14.
Doesn’t seem to be a reason why some are on endless delays and others get on a ship within a week of production. A few think it’s aero kit. Others are just as delayed and don’t have an aero kit on their car or in their side shot the aero kit is already in their car. So who knows what is causing a car like mine to be 3 months into production and others that started in February are already on a ship to the States.

@johny221 I feel for you. Mine was delayed a few times...but she's finally built and waiting for a ride to the east coast
. Did you ask your SA if they can find out what the hold up is?
This Targa has been quite the saga, but yesterday I finally took delivery of a fully loaded 2022 Targa 4S with thanks to Ross Franklin who made it possible.
Chronology:
- August 2021 ordered a Targa 4 (not a 4S)
- Feb 2022 switched to a higher volume dealer who supposedly got more allocations and would have an allocation by fall 2022
- Jan 23 found out that Porsche had delivered just 2 Targa 4s to the entire NE region of the US in all of 2022 (the Targa 4 is a fairytale car, Porsche make very few of these)
- realized I was 4th in line in a queue that was not moving
- if I switched to a 4S it would put me at the back of a 3 year waitlist
- Ross Franklin found me EXACTLY the spec I was after: Gentian Blue, blue targa roof, luxury and sports packs as a CPO car with under 300
miles on the odometer
- the car has more options than I’d previously planned like sport design package, special tail lights, special exhaust, front axle lift, full leather…
It’s been a long long journey - but finally it’s arriving.

Just venting but production was supposed to start tomorrow on my T, and I just logged and and saw that sometime in the last few hours, its been pushed back by 2 days. First world problems but I just want it to start already!
I suspect it is accurate (well, 64 weeks maybe wrong but definitely a LARGE delay)... my car started it's build September 2022. It finished October 2022 and has been waiting for the aerokit since then. Every month it gets pushed. This is for a car that was built other than that one part 4 months ago. I'm getting somewhat annoyed. How freaking hard is it to fabricate a wing for a 911?
That's my concern too. I'm not a Porsche technician but pretty sure that a static wing has less moving parts (end electronics) than a moving wing!
