is you car a ‘22 or ‘23? When were you notified by the SA?

We were contacted by email, for me at least. If I would hazard a guess, I do not think they will post install the electric column. I've heard it's a complex and arduous process. You may be in luck and have the electric column or they have missed contacting you about the credit. BTW, early people who were offered a retrofit from Porsche ultimately were given a $1k credit. Whereas for me and others who were told we 'may' or 'may not' get the electric column were given $500.

It’s a 23 and SA told me at the time of order which was back in July. At that time new cars were coming in with manual columns and were expected to do so for the foreseeable future back then.

When I ordered the car, the configurator indicated the steering column was electric with the 18 way seats. I actually encased the steering column in leather and had to specify the option that was compatible with the electric steering column. I am hoping mine is electric, but I guess it will be what it is.

With us, we did not get notification until the car was delivered to the dealer about the steering wheel adjustment not being available. Came with a voucher to be used at our discretion. Not a big deal as far as we were concerned.

Was your car a ‘22 or ‘23? I am trying to determine if ‘23 cars are also having this issue. Has anyone taken delivery of a ‘23 yet, and if so, did it come with a manual steering column? I agree, not a huge issue. Just curious.

you can find the details of the steering column in a few sources. For 23, they are all manual unless you have a higher end model. Sport classic and maybe turbo with certain options. I’m not 100% on the models but base, s etc are all manual columns

'22 718 GTS 4.0...Our SM advised us the supply issues are very fluid and are in constant inconsistency of what is and is not available on all the models. Best bet is to keep open a good communication with your SA. Good luck.

Mine is a 2023 C4GTS with the 18-way seats and when I asked my SA about it he said my car would have the manual steering column and that only the upper tier cars are getting the electronic steering column. And he sure didn't mention anything about a rebate. Now I'm wondering if I'm even entitled to one...

Edit: just looked on the configurator and for the GTS anyway, choosing the 18-way seats does not include the power steering column. However, on the 911 Turbo S which comes standard with the 18-ways, in the description it says it includes the electronic steering column. So I doubt those of us who began with a 2023 MY build are going to get a rebate, even though the 18-way seat price sure didn't seem to get lowered. I'm gonna check one of my saved builds in case it'll let me see if there's a difference in price-if I haven't deleted them all. If there is I'll report back.

my dumb *** deleted the old builds. Sorry guys

I don’t think us 2023 are eligible because Porsche changed the standard equipment for this year, prior to our orders.

2022 were surprised by it so they get it

I think you're correct. What I do want to know though is if Porsche dropped the 18-way seat price for 2023 MY. My Simple-Simon self deleted my 2022 saved builds so I can't look now. A manual steering column isn't a big a deal to me, but paying for it and not getting it is a different matter. I know it's not a lot of money, but money is money. That saving could pay for PEC Atlanta or another option or whatever.

When I built my car in July, the electric steering column was listed in the 18 way seat option. They eliminated it in the description sometime after that. Either way, no big deal.

I mean prices for everything went up too with the new model year so hard to argue without a price change that you are missing something.

Great news! If you haven't been there yet, youre gonna love it. It's like Disney World for people who love Porsche. Can I ask how long ago you booked your delivery date? Just trying to get a handle on how busy they are.
