Heard from PEC Atlanta this morning and I'm scheduled to take delivery of my C4GTS on December 13th. I'm a happy man. This is gonna be a fantastic trip. Really looking forward to it.
But I do have a question for those smarter than me. The car, according to the magical crystal ball we know as TYD, says the car is going to be delivered to PEC Atlanta on November 25th (yes that changed again). However, my SA has told me the car will arrive at the Jacksonville Port on October 25th, and I can't imagine it taking 5 weeks to transport the car to Atlanta. So feasibly the car could be sitting in Atlanta several weeks before my appointment.
When would you guys begin the insurance policy? Thanks for any suggestions.

I always start the insurance the day I pay for the car. If your financing the bank of course requires the coverage before they fund the loan but paying cash I would want my own insurance to cover my asset. Trusting Porsche to completely cover a theft or damage to a car already transferred into your name could prove a mistake.

I am also doing PEC Atlanta on December 6th with the car at Jax port since last week Thursday. Dealer told me we would complete the sale on the 2nd of December. I personally wouldn’t complete the sale of the vehicle until the delivery date is less than a week away.

Happy to report the below, but also curious to have some feedback on what the experience of others have been from this point forward? Also, if this is totally accurate and the car actually arrives a the dealership on 12/29/22 what is the typical timing for the dealer to put it through make-ready assuming there are no injuries/damage on the ship?

I have a 2023 Panamera that is scheduled for delivery on Dec 20 or there about and I am taking delivery at PECLA - but that won’t happen until probably early January. My dealer has said they will want to complete the same the day the car gets dropped off in Houston from the ship. They are having it come to Houston which is faster for the shop to get to as compared to San Diego or Los Angeles. They want this sale in 2022 obviously and so does Porsche I suspect. Probably helps meet some milestone sales level that gives them a bonus for all their 2022 sales.
Good point about transport trucks- Porsche uses independent car transport services and who knows what kind of insurance these trucking companies maintain. I usually don’t cancel my insurance on cars I sell for a week or so as well to make sure the state has received my release of liability form.
Porsche just canceled my Bose stereo and the electric steering column on my 2023 Panamera - and the Burmeister is not available either. Waiting to hear what they will do for owners impacted by this issue. A Panamera already depreciates like a rock thrown in a pound - unlike 911’s - and this one is fully equipped for a total msrp of $168,000 and a base stereo and manual column?
Has anyone had a car with a base stereo system? A 992 or other 2020 plus vehicle? Does it sound decent. This notice arrived after the fixed date of course as well. I would not place a new order for any Porsche until this stereo system issue is resolved.
