No way will they let anyone drive it. They may put it on the showroom floor, locked so it may have a touch of drool on it that they will clean off for you. My GTS was on that ship and showing 04/01 dealership arrival. However speaking to my SA he believes I’ll be able to take delivery by the end of this month (March). I’ll make time to pick it up when I get that call.

I meant I won't be able to pick up my car until late next month due to personal reasons. I'm sure the car deliver in the next week or two. My dealer is in Atlanta, not too far from Jacksonville's port.

Hopefully they leave it in the showroom, that would be very nice. I was worried they'd leave it in the lot and let other customers get in and start it up.

First look
After a 2 month delay and 2 cancelled "factory delivery" dates, I will be picking up this beauty from the dealership on Monday. Also finally got the "Behind the scenes" photos today.

Got these today, according to TYD, car is sitting at Emden waiting on a boat. I was hoping for the side picture, but understand that some people don't get any, any chance I'm missing it somewhere?

Depending on the dealer, they may well have plenty of room in their showroom for it. And it will look great for them to have a "warm body" for people to admire.

I would be direct. If you are concerned, email the dealer and verify the car is to be locked and not entered or driven by anyone but the dealer's prep people for moving in and out of the shop. I would be very polite, but would have no problem asking this of them.
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let anyone drive it but unless you tell them directly they may not think much about letting a potential buyer hop in the driver's seat.

They will happily boot a Macan or anything not 992 out of the floor to make room. Lots of showroom space for new 992s these days on the floor. Someone else driving it is fantasy thinking. But agree if it gives luuat piece of mind make it known to the dealership no drives, getting inside, etc. except Porsche qualified personnel for dealer prep reasons. It would be great to hear their immediate response something like “are you serious do you really think we would allow someone to use your car for any reason”. Granted, their response would be nicer than I could muster.

Placed my 1k down for 'order demand' on C2S. Current ADM is 10k here at my Philly dealer. Hoping this comes down when my time comes. 5k ADM is most ill pay. Hope production increases and ill keep my fingers crossed in meantime.
