Official waiting room for those with a new 992 on order --- come on in !!

I am pretty sure that is not correct. According to this press release, PCNA sold 5,108 911s in the US for the first half of 2021.
Also, Porsche doesn't build any cars in "small batches" unless it is a 918 or something. Targas can be built inter-mixed with every other trim of 911s and 718s (all of Porsche's sports cars go down the same production line in Zuffenhausen). There might be Targa specific part constraints that are causing allocation issues though.

If you walk into any showroom, you will certainly agree the current availability is way down.

I believe those stats may be “cars delivered” and not cars produced for the US. Meaning, cars produced in 2020 and not sold until 2021 would count toward your number but not his.

Also curious which is the next ship to headed to San Diego, my car has been waiting in Emden for a ride for a month now. What about the Viking Bravery? It looks like it has a history of docking in San Diego … haven’t seen a schedule for it yet.

My Dad's Carmine Red C2 has been built ( on schedule, thankfully) and on the water. Mine should be 4 weeks behind it. I have heard about some problems with the Track your Dreams system but so far for us it has worked well. Damn cool in fact.

Vista6019,
I have a Carmine C2S that started it’s build last week. I’ll stare at the pictures of your Dad’s car to tide me over. May he enjoy in good health.
Cheers

So, today I received an email from PNA after I asked about the post-production delays. I was told, "congratulations on the purchase of your Targa 4!" That was followed by moving the estimated date of delivery from 11/5 to 11/26.
Not long after, my SA sent me the following message: "So we heard back from Germany regarding several of our vehicles that are being held up. It is a microchip issue, lack of vessels, and there are post production issues with keys/TPMS sensors as well as a litany of other issues that are preventing these cars from leaving Germany."
As many have noted, these issues are not just chips. I'll keep waiting, and still consider myself lucky.

3rd in line at dealership for allocation. Been like this for several months. Hoping for early '22 delivery or even into next summer. C4 GTS. Not in a rush as I need a few more points to drop off driving record to make a little room for my back-road behavior that I'm sure will follow.

I think the vessels are now gaining momentum in contributing to this mess. I have noticed a lot are getting anchored at various ports and sitting due to back ups. My car completed build on sept 2, was due at the Emden port sept 10. It’s still in a factory parking lot somewhere. I think I better take a few weeks off of following at all this (but I won’t) Haha. Like you, also consider lucky to even be getting one. It will get here when it gets here.

I can finally say that I have an allocation now, I've been waiting since May for this! My car will be delivered late spring/early summer. It's a Carrera S with a PTS color (Carbon Steel Metallic) which I switched to from GT silver. Very excited now!

Just got official word from my S.A. that my car has a "stop sale" due to TPMS sensor. It is currently sitting in Jacksonville since yesterday when it arrived. Hoping for a quick install but not holding my breath

By the time I get to drive my car home from Atlanta I may need winter tires.
