GT3RS Allocation Thread

I'm wondering too. I have a 991.2 3RS and I think it's the most magical Porsche I've ever driven on the road, a never sell car. I also have a 992 GT3 and, while a great car, it doesn't have as much magic as the 991.2 3RS. I'm curious about whether the 992 3RS has a lot more magic than the GT3.
With the windows down the induction added to the engine sounds was so magical for me on the 991.2. I will miss that!

I'd bet you're right if you make that same comment about the 992.1 GT3 when the .2 comes out though

Porsche always come up with new things up their sleeves just like how the 991.2 GT3RS was more desirable than the 991.1 GT3RS whatever changes/additions Porsche makes, the cycle will continue.

I agree that historically the facelift cars are almost always more desirable but from what I'm hearing the 992 may be different depending on what you want out of the car. Of course the .2 3RS will be quicker around a circuit but I think Porsche finally hit a wall big enough with its powerplant/aero that it will need some kind of power adder (hybridization or turbo) on the 3RS to give it a proper gap over the predecessor. Time will tell. My guess is the 992.1 is the last pure ICE 3RS made. I'm sure a mild hybrid, if that's the route they take, will be epic as well, in it's own way....but we know people love to chase the "last of" anything. See 993 for last air cooled or 997 Turbo for last manual

The Ring is not a good comparison, too much straight driving, the DF works against the 992. Take it to real race tracks like Spa, Portimao, Zandvoort etc. and you will see the significant delta. 992 feels closer to a race car, 991 more of a road car feel. You can stay close to a 991 Cup on Zandvoort in 992 RS, a 991 RS is dumped after a few corners, especially through the high speed corners.

3RS with 575-600bhp would be such a nice sweet spot. Have a 2RS in the garage and 700bhp is nice but I prefer the NA 500-520bhp cars myself. If Porsche could maintain the nature of the 3RS with 575-600bhp boy that would be fun

Man. I remember when I thought 400hp was too much power. Hence, I go back to tracking my S2000 once in awhile to remind me where I came from.
