With high interest rates & higher prices dampening demand worldwide, and impact on residuals, I would not be surprised if they close the factory down for week or two to reduce supply.
cosmos I'm not sure what you mean. I have for months on this thread been trying to temper the people that think 'there are a flood of cars coming' - there are not a flood of cars coming. Dealers will get another round, but not a bigger round. Maybe the same size, most likely smaller.
Porsche is going to switch to 992.2 production at some point- and those take slots away from extra complex aero panel cars.
how many months of Calendar year 2024 992.1 production will there be? Nobody really knows on the dealer side as that is a PAG thing.
I'm heading out to factory next month and will report back from the line!
Yeah there's folks within these boards that just don't quite see the future of the brand as the way the brand sees itself. They feel just because there's desire for more, that the factory will comply.

Essentially the soup **** of cars.
Better stop driving your 3RS and bubble wrap it so you can use it for your retirement funds.
Not meant at all negative to you, I realized that my sarcastic nature didn’t come across right.
I wanted to convey that you set yourself up to be vilified because inevitably there will be that one person who gets an allocation seemingly out of the blue and all of a sudden you are wrong when in fact you are right.
ahh ok. I've been a dealer for long enough to know no matter what I do, how I do it...there will always be someone who thinks they are a better GM/Dealer than I am. I don't even attempt to do anything but be transparent, at great risk- or as transparent as I can be.
I thought last year that we would get XX cars and it turns out we (my store) are getting ~20% less than I anticipated. That being said, we got more of other types. FWIW Porsche looks at 'Total GT Car Production Capacity' so in their metric if they sell 10 GT3s and 10 GT3RS or 14 GT3 and 6 GT3RS it's the same output in terms of 'annual GT car production'. In the end they did make a few extra GT3's but those must have come at the direct expense of the 3RS production we are not getting. c'est la vie folks

I think you will find that being transparent and direct is sometimes met with resistance as folks dont know how to perceive direct honesty - that said, sarcasm is what keeps these threads alive and well. Appreciate the commentary.

it's cognitive dissonance for a lot of the people here. but it's the same thing with my clients who cannot fathom some of the facts.
Like I said from last year, I don’t need to wait in line 2-3 years prior with a deposit to get GT allocation at MSRP. I don’t even need to leave a deposit, I just tell my sales guy I’m interested in the car, same way with my 992 gt3, macans and turbo, turbo s ect ect. My 992 RS allocation was on September for November build at MSRP,no pts. My point I’m making - don’t let people on rennlist tell you, what the rules of getting GT allocations are. How they play it may not work for you.
I have followed your posts for years (although I only became a member this year) - I read all your posts, including of your self-made success from a young high school kid. IMHO, your very succinct review of the various 992 models (my current interest) have been real world, based on actual driving, and sales/maintenance. You have been extremely informative of how allocations, dealerships, ED, PCNA, and PAG work. Often, one does need to read carefully between your lines. Sometimes, I wonder how you choose to reveal so much to your potential detriment.
Thanks to your posts, I recently got a 992GTS Coupe at MSRP (“only the Principal GM/Dealer can promise MSRP AND keep the promise”)…and many other VIP treatment from PCNA.
I’m sure we all appreciate your candor and invaluable contributions here. Please continue with your well written, concise, and sometimes humorous posts. Thank you for all your time here amidst, I am very sure, your wide/deep personal and business responsibilities. PCNA owes you immensely for being a honest, passionate, and articulate spokesperson.
Hey everyone, thought I'd close the loop on my own allocation, a '24 Weissach on European delivery. Some photos below. The Werkswagen experiece was great, and a quick 1500kms in Germany with the break-in done. This car is absolutely amazing, and I drove in a 2-hour downpour with PSCup 2's without incident. The refinement of this vehicle is superb, and with the track-mode hack (set -4 on dampers all around) the vehicle is more comfortable than an GT3 around bumpy roads. The steering response at high speed is like a superpower, and the brakes have firm but not violent bite with a very progressive pedal. And Ice Gray...I was a bit on the fence having never seen it on a 992 in person, but I can say now that the configurator and online pictures totally fail to capture its subtlety and dynamic nature.
