I am sure a ton of people would take this car off your hands in a heartbeat. I have quite a few GT3 Touring friends who want one but didn't get one.

Very few people here can comment, but from everyone I've talked to and some people who are close friends with AP (he absolutely believes this is the best driving 911 ever) - the S/T is a better driving car... but for someone who really will obsess over a 2-3% difference in driving experience. It's like some wine fanatics who can taste the difference between a 700 dollar bottle of wine vs. a 1000. I frankly, cannot. So I don't see the difference.

That's what you have to decide.

Sure you could, but why would you, that’s what the GT3 is for. I mean obviously you would own other cars to take to the track.
Why not? I tracked my Touring a few times and it was an adventure with the lack of aero.

My sales contact sends me detailed update. The ranges you can get from the app but I got the specific dates as well (of course take it with a grain of salt at the moment). My current date is shown as 11/8/24 with lock date as 7/19/24 (slipped a day).

That’s very well said. Similar to the Matt Farah comparison video.

This is why I don’t buy $1000 bottles of wine, and honestly why I’m not interested in an ST. It would be wasted on me, despite owning many Porsches including a 991.2 GT3.

neo, why are you getting an ST if you won’t notice the 3% difference? Or were you just referring to wine? Honest question.

the wine tasting analogy is spot on, and one I actually used recently to describe the changes made when comparing GT3 vs S/T. Anyone can hop into either car and immediately know it’s amazing. but to truly understand/comprehend why the S/T is so good it certainly helps to have seat time in other Porsches to appreciate the changes that were made and how they make the car better.

Very nice Red at an easily affordable price, can be a daily.

A more celebrated Red from same wine maker at 4 to 5 times the cost. Certainly not a daily wine, for most people.

I think you need to drive them back to back to really appreciate the difference between the 2. The gt3 is a great car but that RS engine with a SMFW and MT is something very special, like road and track say it’s the best NA engine this side of the ones GMA uses.

To be fair, you have no interest in the 992 platform in it's entirety, which you've made clear now for 3+ years in this subforum. Nothing wrong with that at all, but the context matters if you're going to make a statement about not being interested in the car discussed in here

This is what excites me the most about the S/T. I am extremely detail oriented, daily drive my Touring and track it pretty regularly. I cannot wait to feel the minutia of differences in the cars. One of my favorite things to do is jump back in a 991 after a week+ absence to re-visit the differences in the platforms. There is not a better 911 out there for my wants/needs than the S/T. And like Neo, I will track it often because why not

Same deal with audiophile HiFi.

I can tell the difference between high end components and I can appreciate where one is better than the other. More often than not the cost differential for this incremental performance difference is massive. Sometimes I think it's worth it, but sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood.

Yall are just too fancy. I mean are we talking Starkist Vs. Chicken of the Sea canned tuna kind of refinement? Or Jif vs Peter pan? I don't care who you are, if you don't eat JIF, you're just a heathen.
