Originally my S/T was supposed to arrive this month, then it switched to a date range (as it did for everyone) from 8/6-10/8. Now TYD says 10/10-12/13.
Given that every S/T needs to be completed by 12/31, Porsche isn’t giving themselves much buffer to get these done before the new year if July builds are shipping in Aug-Oct… and what caused this 2 month delay if the car is already built and just needed to be
checked completely in the test facility

Consider me the fully self-indulgent wiener then...who never really drives his car.
5500 ish miles and counting, with 1k track miles at Laguna Seca over the past 4 years, and PLENTY of us drive the hell out of our cars...a lot of the guys are just incredibly private. There is no car that I've ever had that comes close in enjoyment factor to me...CGT, 918 WP, 911r, any RS I've had...wouldnt choose any over my Singer classic. Admittedly the post 2017 ish builds were more dialed in than the previous ones, but they learn more and more and perfect the setups of the cars with every year that goes by and it only gets sweeter. Its not a car for everyone and the prices have gotten significantly higher, but you definitely gain a different appreciation/perspecetive when you go through the process with the team there vs just seeing them out and about...but its flat out the only car Ill keep till I croak (hopefully a while away, but never know!). FWIW, I do somewhat view the ST as the modern Porsche equivalent of the Classic build ethos as its supposed to be a combination of parts and tuning that maximizes engagement and enjoyment while not stressing the lap times...and Ill be looking forward to comparing them when my ST arrives in the winter.

Autocar Magazine UK has published an in depth 8 page UK Road Test on the S/T. Another 5 star review and they don't give those lightly.
Some of the in gear acceleration figures are very impressive, helped by the 8% reduction in final drive.
I expect it will go online in the next week or so at autocar.co.uk and is a worth a read.

Lmfao! I think I'd rather go for the equally priced F50.

Some interesting tidbits from the Autocar road test…
7kg lighter than the 997 GT3 RS they tested in 2010
Very quick in intermediate gears and 2nd gear acceleration comparable to that of an Aventador SVJ
(I looked it up…30-70 mph in 2.9 sec in 2nd for the S/T versus 2.7 sec for the SVJ)
An all time great. 5 stars.
