Not just ridicule. These are generally the #1 or #2 customer at a dealership. People spending close to $500k on a car can afford very good lawyers. This would be a huge ****storm. Unless the lease explicitly excluded a buy out option, there’s no way it doesn’t go nuclear in litigation. With almost 2000 customers and many many thousands of dealer employees, one of these contracts will leak eventually. We’ll find out soon enough.

So…first “numbered” car for me. I didn’t realise that you get to choose your limitation number XXXX/1963 on the car. I thought they just went in order. Kinda cool. Obviously since I’m no VIP I was late to the party and all the cool numbers were gone lol. Still very excited to get his car.

Shade is a wildcard for me. I saw a few Dakars in that color in Zuffenhausen and the color didn’t wow me, but at that time I didn’t really want a car in that color so I didn’t give it much serious thought. Now I want to see it again to help decide

there are a few numbers I could think of that might make the car even more valuable in some markets

I also did not know that.

My buddy shops at Leith in North Carolina and last week he said they got 1 allocation... I guess he could have been referring to a 918 allocation...

Anyone on the East Coast have a non-VIP allocation?

How do you pick your production number? First I've heard of this

Me too. GM asked me to pick the “limitation number” on the plaque that goes on the dashboard.

having #888 in China (or for a Chinese person) is something pretty special.

Wonder how many are going to China? It’s not on their configurator.
