Now that is nuts! Seven figures for a slightly juiced version of the regular M4 inline six. Bodywork does not even look that great. Kind of like a goofy kit car

50 made and worth every Euro. So much more than what you described. When the full specs are broken down into detail, you realize where the money is.

992 ST’s scheduled for production. 100kilo savings from standard GT3. The Heritage part plays into it a lot. Porsche released the 1950’s for the Targa, the 1960’s for the Sport Classic and now we are 1970’s for the ST. We are talking specific interior and exterior colors as well as model specific wheels. Don’t forget lots of magnesium and carbon fiber as well as updated suspension changes too. I was told that it is NOT a track focused car, if you want a track focused car than buy an RS. Think of this as a low volume 911R on a 992 chassis. No sofa seat option, no rear seat, it will have real door handles and pull straps.

This sounds good!

Any chance of a duck tail?
Painted stripe scheme?

I would go bananas for an exposed carbon fibre dual center stripe or 911r style stripes.

The original ST had no tail, so I suspect none here.

That would put it well under 3,000 pounds. Would be great power to weight

I thought maybe 100kg less than RS (with its heavy active aero and pdk). 100kg less than manual GT3 would be truly impressive!

I’ve walked around the outside of my GT3 with a magnet and there’s almost no steel left to lose…

Standard PCCB, Magnesium wheels, and LWB’s would be the only low hanging fruit I can think of. Maybe Titanium suspension coil springs, CF axles and sway bars…

@GrantG I know I typed standard GT3 but you could very well be correct. The chat I had was in a parking lot in Weissach and truth be told I was very tired.

That would make sense. US-spec GT3 RS less 100kg would put it around 3,048 pounds (still very light by modern standards and excellent power : weight)...

What do you value the ST at then? 2 mil? 3 mil? Some carbon fiber panels don't warrant a seven figure price. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but what kind of add on is this?

"but the rear arch extensions sit over the top of an existing M4’s Coupe's side pressing, neatly integrating into the rear wing."

Sounds like a body kit vs unique rear quarters.

If numbers are few enough, maybe they will find hardcore bmw fans that will pay. Honestly this seems like an April fools prank in Nov. $1M plus gets buyers what? From what is listed in the article I can't get anywhere close to seven figures.

BMW has a habit of overpricing their limited cars. Look at the f series gts. People like what they like and will spend accordingly, but this is so crazy I don't even believe it's real.

They are going to make 20 times as many ST's than 3.0 CSL (if 992 is the correct number), so way less than that. A 991.1 911R was $185k, Dakar is $222k, an RS is $224k and an SC is $272k. I wouldn't see it being far more expensive than those (but probably the highest of the whole lot).

bmw is a cool car but really just a factory restomod. the manual trans coupled with low production numbers equals million $. it will hold its value. the porsche st would also be $1m if had mt instead pdk

The ST is Manual-only as well (AFAIK), but will cost a fraction of the 3.0 CSL. Porsche cannot make only 50 units of anything at this point in time, since they are contractually obligated to offer the car (and all limited production models) at MSRP to all 918 VIP's (many more than 50 remaining in the program).

This came directly from the mouth of BMWNA’s CEO at a BMW M History meet at the Greenville plant a few weeks ago where the car was previewed to a few groups. But, sure.
