Reason I’m not buying one is because these “special editions” are a complete cash grab for dealers, facilitated by Porsche. Most will go to flippers. Porsche artificially limits production to enable dealers to allocate to their best customers, and most flip them for massive profits.
Although this time Porsche got even more greedy, the MSRP is a joke! This will limit dealers’ ability to mark it up.

I LOVE the GT4RS and will be my track b1tch for many years to come.
Just ironic hearing people's experiences with the 4RS. AP was clearly positioning it as the best mid-engined road car for canyons/back roads...clearly not a fan favorite but wild they built it!
I will go for a manual Spyder some day soon but the wife have me sleeping in it.
for me, like Whoopsy- the GT4RS is the car I've always wanted them to make. the raucous chainsaw noises from the engine are not present in any of their current 911's because of the firewalls. It's ludicrous.

That's why the GT4RS had a much bigger want factor than the GT3/Touring and the GT3RS. I was keeping up with 991 GT3/RSs in my GT4s on track so now I should be able to do more than that with the GT4RS with both 991 and 992 GT3/RSs.

I just had so much fun tracking my 981 and 718 GT4s that I was foaming at the mouth when they announced the GT4RS. The GT4RS is a car that will not ever leave my garage.

agreed on many points but think about it..how many cars fall into this category? Porsche has effectively created their own version of 992.1 singer
The blip aka rev match will be a selectable function from the touchscreen. It was a physical button on the 911R in the console but not anymore.

Couple of interesting things about this in standard specs - a) throttle blip button (like GT4/GT3) is not seen in videos / pics etc but spec says it is there (see attached). b) comes with power steering plus.. hmm. I hate it whenever I drive it (drove in 992 GTS and 991.1 S) and it comes standard..perhaps goes well with extra light clutch and single mass fly wheel set up driving experience??
Problem with the 992 though is the size. Can’t truly feel like an old school car when it’s that big.
compared to a 964, sure. But it’s about the same size and lighter than the 991. And the ST is only like 150lbs heavier than the 997 GT3. I’m sorry, but I think that’s amazing.

I dunno, I currently have 992, 991, and 997 cars, and 992 feels significantly bigger to me - not a dealbreaker, but bigger. The digital interface of the 992 is also not very old school. Would be really cool if Porsche reissued a car with 964 proportions.

Yes, a 992 feels MUCH bigger than both my 996 GT3 and my 987 Boxster. Modern 911s have become grand-tourers. Modern Porsche sports cars most resembling old school 911s are now the 718s.

Have you lived with a 992? I heard this before before I bought one. While the proportions may be indeed slightly larger, it's a fantasy to call it a grand tourer. It's very much a 911 and I've owned mostly aircooled cars. You know what is amazing? That despite all the manufacturing regs and reqs, a 992 weighs the same as a 993 30 years later.
Also, are you here just to bash the ST and current model 911s? I'm not sure what you're adding to the ST convo. All I hear is how much you love your 996 and Boxsters and how much you'd prefer something other than the ST.
