Guard’s red is a really wonderful color for any sports car and red is the most popular C8 corvette color and obviously the most popular color for Ferrari’s and across all sports cars over the years clearly a color that screams sports car and “-I’m fast!”.

There is a Guard’s red 2023 911T on Bring a Trailer available until Thursday on an auction. The car has only 168 miles on the odometer. Current bid $120,000 with only two other 911 T’s for sale currently on car listing sites at $150,000 plus and one at over $170,000.

some 90 photos and a walk around video posted on the auction- take a look this is a fantastic color for a 911 and the reason some Porsche guys don’t like it is because frankly they are “ fly under the radar guys” for some psychological reason that a therapist might help them with! Personally my sports cars are toys - big boy toys- and they should look like a matchbox toy and catch the eye of every twelve year old boy you zoom by with a flash of color and the roar of your engine.

Personally Carmine Red is boring - less bright and not as pretty a color as Guard’s red- Carmine is a muddier looking red color and not worth $3,500 over the free Guard’s red. Everytime porsche sells Carmine red for $3,500 the employees must have a place on their office wall where they make another slash and slap each other on the back and laugh about Hans who suggested making this second red color a “special color” that only takes a small amount of colorant costing a few dollars to transform Guards red into Carmine red.

I admit that the above video by the way is of my Guard’s red 911 T - and is currently for sale on Bring a a Trailer. I was offered a GT3 allocation a few days before taking delivery of this car at a price I could not turn down and no garage space for two new 911’s.

The Agate gray metallic accents only available on the 992 911 T makes a gorgeous accent to the Guard’s red exterior paint. side mirrors, wheels, rear emblems and slats and the interior color while black is also more of a black gray. And the wheel emblems in gray tones also looks perfect. A few photos from the Bring a Trailer listing. And a manual transmission.

min fifty years a Guard’s red 911 will still be turning the heads of 12 year old boys, gsthering a crowd at gas stations ( will there be gas stations?) and for some young (single) fellow the attention of the ladies. There is a reason wives are okay with their husbands owning a tan or off white sports car but they typically are not happy when a streak of bright red flashes into the garage. They know which cars attracted their attention when they were a single 24 year old on the prowl.

Talking color on cars is like talking religion at the Thanksgiving table.

Tread carefully, and eat before.

Manual vs pdk, air cooled vs water cooled, 911 vs Cayman/Boxster, winged vs wingless, C&C lame vs fun ... people are so tribal.

I understand that guards red isn’t for everyone, but I think it’s a fantastic color on a 911 and as such I’ve owned two. IMO this color is just as timeless as black, white or silver. For reference:

My 991.2 T (that I just sold):

and my 992.1 GT3T:

Left FAL on; still love this photo

I was hoping that things were calming down but I just spoke to someone who sells very high and desirable classic Porsches and a wealthy client wanted to buy a new 911 S/T so the dealer reached out to dealers he knows and asked how much it would be. He was offered one S/T and the client paid the selling dealer $325,000 over MSRP for the car. The world is still nuts.

That's just a stealer asking price.

there is a specific sub-set of 'must have' people for whom the ADM is not a concern - once you run through those, it's then a (deep) pool of people who will pay ADM but not a visibly psychotic one. as you run through those people, ADM starts declining but how far we get is dependent on supply. the S/T is at the very front part of the 'must have' curve as is the new 3 RS but the GT4 RS ADM has come in a lot.

Exactly, I call it the "new shiny toy" syndrome.

I trust most dealers as far as I can throw them. How the hell was the car sold when no US allocations have dropped?

C'mon my friend. I think by now we now each other better.

Are you really trying to be obtuse, or just trying to drum up traffic on RL?
