A place to discuss all things ADM

There were only about 2900 992 GT3's made for the U.S. market. People on this thread act as though Porsche built 29,000 for the U.S.
ADM's have continued to be robust.
But many in this thread are in massive denial.
There are over 8,000 engineers in the engineering department at GOOGLE. Ever been in their parking lot on a Friday?
It will make your eyes water.

it’s not 2008. There’s no broad mortgage crisis. Economic fundamentals are so strong as to be too strong. There was a catastrophic global supply crisis in 2020, and there’s a lot of pent up demand being fulfilled to rectify that. That’s real economic activity. This recession, should it occur, will not be anything like 2008.

I’m not in denial that current ADMs are ridiculous and have been ridiculous for over 12 months. This is total clown world. It’s real… for now. Supply and demand, I suppose.
But do you see the irony? This isn’t a supercar, and folks are paying a 38% markup, $75k on $200k. Because they can, right?
But wait, you pay a 38% markup on a car that can bottom out on poor roads, tires can barely drive in the wet, and the damn thing will get spanked by a 992 GTS. Makes that ridiculous ADM seem a little Large to me.
In the real world a damn Cayenne Turbo with a housewife driving would probably beat it. So much for ego, eh?
I’ve heard numerous people on this board repeat themselves that a GT3 isn’t a $300k car. 346 lb-ft doesn’t get the job done for that price.

Some of those engineers might be getting laid off soon. Every week I hear of a company laying off thousands of workers. There’s a time lag associated with all this.

Porsche benefits with its pricing . Be the top dog with a Porsche gt car among Porsches or at the same price point then be the lowest person in the supercars .
those that gripe about adm know that they are being priced out and will continually gripe . Those that don’t think they are worth it and have the money just move on and have moved onto supercars (several people on these forums have done that )

Happy you’re enjoying your TTS but this statement is a bit disingenuous since you make it sound like you were never in the market for a 992 GT3… you were, I thought, but you didn’t want to pay the markup so you settled on this choice… a good choice, but I don’t think it was your first choice based on prior posts you made. To now say how you can “embarrass a GT car” is a bit odd. We all like to justify our choices though.

I got the 991.2 TTS as a road car that I can also track, but I probably don’t want to make that TTS my main track car because it has a luxurious interior that I don’t want to mess up by putting in track seats and roll bar, but that means less safety.
If I get a 992 TT/S allocation, I’ll probably take that and order it with a track build, and that would mean passing on the 992 GT3 allocation if offered.
So it kind of comes down to what’s available first.
Paying tens of thousands ADM on a 992 GT3 is off the table for me because I don’t think the car is worth that much - for that money would rather have the 992 TTS with a track build (which would still be a fun road car).

Not everyone wants the fastest car on the road.
My tuned RSQ8 was quicker than my manual GT3’s.
I don’t care as that’s not the purpose of these cars.
I’m not 17 anymore and race on public roads.
If you want the fastest car the reality is it’s electric.
If you want one of if not the best handling, lightest, manual, high revving, and arguably the best sounding car for sale today you buy a gt3.
My car may not be super to some but it makes me SUPER HAPPY and that’s all that matters.
25k 50k 75k is not the end of the world. No one here is living forever. Enjoy what you can while you still can.
If the value doesn’t appeal to you then wait 3-4 years when they are used, have high mileage and multiple owners. By then the 992.2 will be coming out and will be that much better.
