Have you spent much time on the Ferrari board? I spend more time on the Fchat than I do Rennlist, but I do spend enough time here to safely draw this conclusion: for every one value post on Fchat, there is 25 on Rennlist. Tons of passionate owners on both boards, but clearly the participants on Rennlist are more preoccupied with ownership cost in general, and depreciation in particular. On a side note, I don’t own any Ferrari clothing or shoes, but I do own a couple of their cars, and they are spectacular. I hope to someday add a Porsche to the stable, but the dealers don’t make it very easy. Meanwhile, Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini are happy to sell their new cars.

My long deceased dad, (1989 at 80) could more than afford any car he wanted, but he always made excuses. His dream car was a Jaguar XJ12. In 1974 is was around $20k if I recall. He couldn't bear to pay that and bought an AMC Hornet for $3,800. In 1984 it was time for a new car but now his dream car Jag was $40K or so, couldn't part with his cash and bought some nondescript GM sedan. I recall that story frequently and is one of those life lessons one never forgets.
I just sold a property and will soon take delivery of a 3200km Coffee and Cars driven high spec Weissach .2 GT3 RS at a ridiculously inflated price. I'm 62.8.
I always say, "spent it or your heirs will without regard for the years of sacrifice it took to earn it."

Awesome cars for sure and if you have the $ and want one I understand. Just wish we could let them sit on dealer lots at anything over MSRP.
I just would never do it. My TTS was ordered and some dealers were at MSRP in 2011. I did not do business with them. Found a local dealer to go 6% off on a custom order.
you need to be willing to walk away and mean it.

As a side note: Porsche was ahead of its time when back in the 80's they tried to get rid of dealers and sell directly to consumers. Did not work out well. Maybe they can try again.
