OK ordered 991-044-400-41-A34 from Delaware Porsche Parts 955.87 along with new steering wheel bolt N-910-207-01. As far as the airbag am I correct in assuming Macan, 911, cayenne, boxster, cayman and Panamera 17-20 have the same airbag?

If you're just changing MF wheels from .1 to .2 then I don't think you need the GPS Adapter or coding, everything should just work. (Edit: I'M WRONG!!)

Anyone know it that's correct? I've only looked into solutions for replacing my .1 Sport Design wheel with a .2 MF wheel.

Truth. If you go from .1 to .2 mf, you will need an adapter. What you will not need is an FSC code to enable the diamond button, that's it.

Yes, with the GPS adapter. Otherwise it won't work at all. 991.2 wheel has different signaling. Since you're starting with MF the function is enabled to set diamond key function.

Yes this is what I used with my new 971 wheel https://gpsadapter.us/ to make everything work perfectly.

Dumb question here, but if you switch your steering wheel, then you no longer have the indicator of whether you're in comfort, sport or sport plus mode. Is there a way to enable that indictor in the gauge cluster?

If you get the wheel with the dial, it would show there, otherwise, no you'd have to look at the console.

No that's not correct, you need the GPS adapter to make the MF work.

Thanks. I'm coming to the conclusion that this mod is more hassle and expense than it's worth.

Ha! Me too! I would love to do this mod to my 991.1. I wish there was a complete/accurate parts list breakdown and procedure for what exactly needs to be done. This whole process seems to be anything but clear.

It’s not that bad. Really, you’re making this sound way more daunting than it is. I had this done for my 991.1 GTS a few months ago and it was pretty easy.

When you go to order the GPS adapter just shoot the guy a picture of your current steering wheel over email and he can tell you which adapter you need exactly and if you need any other parts.

in my case, I went from the non sport multifunction 991.1 steering wheel with heating to the GT leather multifunction steering wheel with heating from the 991.2.

I needed the steering wheel, the GPS “adapter x”, and a 991.2 airbag from a macan (you can’t buy these on suncoast but there’s tons on eBay). My indie was able to install it for only 1.5 hours labor and no coding was required. Seriously, email the GPS adapter guy and he will sort you out. I would have done it myself but was busy that week. There’s great instructions on their website for the install.

hands down best non performance mod I’ve done. The steering wheel works perfectly and even the little wheel mode selector works well and syncs with the console (there’s a tiny bit of lag using the **** vs the console to switch driving modes but that’s a super tiny nit).
