After reading the 10 page.. I think I won´t be asking something already answered.

I´m from Portugal (europe) and I have a 991.1 Carrera GTS 2015.
Alcantara Wheel PDK without MF.

I would like to have a 991.2 Black trim with Alcantara and PDK GT Steering wheel "GT3". No Multi function wanted.
Only swap from 991.1 to 991.2 no heat, no MF, No dial.

The only thing I´m sure is that I will need a new airbag.

will it be plug and play? no coding, no adapter, etc...

Thank you.

Flavio

Hi all, just purchased my first Porsche! It's a CPO 13 C4S with heated multifunction wheel, and can't wait to do this conversion! With my black and carbon interior, I figured out the new steering wheel part number is #99104440040A34, but can anyone assist with the airbag part#? It is black.

I found an airbag on Suncoast I think is correct, but I'm not sure and it doesn't list the part number. Also, it gives the option of leather or leatherette. Does anyone have experience with the difference? Is the actual leather worth the extra $400? I see mention on here that the Macan airbag can be used and is less expensive? Any advice would be appreciated on this, my first mod. I can already tell it won't be my last!

Also, anyone have any experience with Auto Design or Formula Motorsports in NYC? Was thinking of using one of them for the install at the same time I get a radar detector install and wheel painting/powder coating. Thanks.

get leather if your interior is full leather dash interior, otherwise get the plastic one. i would also check on eBay for mint ones that are next to new as well as the buy and sell forums here - don't forget that as always the airbags and steering wheels from macans/cayennes are the same as your car, just with a diff part number.

If you buy used, make sure you see a pic of the rear connectors for the airbag. I remember seeing one on ebay recently that had corroded connectors from a water damaged car! I purchased a used one from a used parts store online and they had pics of the car before they parted it out so that was reassuring on such an important part!

to those who did this mod- how much do you tighten the 3 bolts for the airbag plate? I can't seem to get these to align correctly.

I didn’t have to remove the plate. I was able to place the wires around the plate.

i switched from sport design (no multi function) to the new 991.2 multi function and bought and installed the adaptor. it is asking for the enabling code (i believe it is a 16 digit code). anyone know where i get this from?

So instead of buying all the tools needed would a place like Champion Motorsports or an aftermarket place do this for me? I understand Porsche will not as the adapter is not oem.

Also so I called Suncoast and all the wheels (I need the espresso carbon fiber) are 4 weeks order lead time. any way to get it sooner?

thank you

Just looping back on this as the steering wheel swap is my #1 top mod I want to do for my 991.1

Is it DYI only? I live in an apt in NYC and don't envision setting up a soldering station any time soon ;-)

Find a local computer or cell phone fixing place and ask if they do microsoldering. I had mine done for $20 and it took about 10min. Then I did the rest of the swap on my own
