So I should be thankful that Porsche gave me extra sound for free. I didn't see Dyson sound on the options list though. Haha

I love all 911's!
I tried to buy a used 2013, and a CPO 2015 but the dealership would not budge on price and figured that if I was going to pay anywhere close to 89k for a used car I might as well get a brand new 2017. I really love my 991.2 but I would have really loved the 991.1 as well. I am also very happy with the way my 991.2 sounds and drives. Although I will have to say that my Macan S does sound somewhat better. :-)

Cheers!

Yeah if I had to give up my 991.2 and have a base 911.1 instead, I would grumble some but still have a lot of fun driving a 911.

The truth is, 991.2 is better than the 991.1 in every single aspect. Period. Whoever say otherwise doesn't know what is talking about.

My NA sounds better (subjective) than your faster, more refined, high-tech, confortable and best looking (subjective) car. LOL.

Enjoy your 911 993, 996, 997 or 991
991.2 is heavier and some just don't like the forced induction. There are 2 aspects that are in fact inferior.

2% heavier, that's HUGE! Bit it is still faster, and more agile

Default 991.2

Nobody seemed to mention the fact that the only reason Porsche went to all Turbo motors is because of EPA continuing to crack down harder and harder. They did the best they could but I would bet, Porsche would have much rather continued with NA engines. There is a place for Turbo engines but IMO they should not all be Turbos.

Different strokes for different folks. I am a big fan of the 991.1 NA 3.8 and I loved my 991.1 NA 3.4 prior to that. I just love the rear engine, NA driving experience. That being said, turbocharged 911s have had a formidable place in the 911 lineup since the 1970's and even moreso now with the 991.2 lineup. I agree with 2008porsche - it is a shame that the NA engine is being phased out; it has been part of the 911 DNA since its inception in the 1960's and to lose that, with the exception of the GT line, is a shame to me and to many others, but not to everyone. I, for one, am glad that I took the plunge for the 991.1 GTS. Yes, we 991.1 GTS enthusiasts get ribbed on this forum for making our version of the 911 sound like amazing sex on wheels and I hope whatever iteration of the 911 that you are driving is as good as or even better than sex on wheels.

Holy crap. Is this thread really 16 pages? I got thru 4, so if this has been said before just ignore it. And it has nothing to do with a 991 but this thread as a whole. To the jack asses who say newer and faster is always better period, I say see 993 and 996.

BTW, I consider the 996 to be superior than the 993 in every aspect and probably the best 911 ever, and I am in the minority because most people will say the 993 was better

As with everything, there are facts and opinions, and humans to confuse the two.

What we like is almost always driven entirely by opinion, and full of subjective feelings. I have long been a fan of endurance racing. I love the brutal style of the 917, and will always consider the 956/962 my favorite. But in terms of lap times and race success, both would look sad compared to any recent race model (and even some street cars).

With Porsche engineering development, we can count on each model out-performing the previous, both on the street and on the track--and I love that about the brand. Does it also guarantee it will make you happier? The marketing division wishes so, but that's up to you.

Not trying to covert you - just pointing out you're statement on linearity is totally incorrect.

You're lucky because most consider the 996 the worst Porsche ever so you can buy like a dozen of them for the price of one 993 or 964 or 997 or 991. :-).

Nothing to do with the EPA, and EVERYTHING to do with China.
