Do people hate Yellow 911s?

Shopped around a bit, for sure. Did not notice much of a price difference, however I ended up buying the first CPO I could find in the country that met my requirements. Not like I had a large selection of yellow C2S manual CPOs to choose from and compare pricing with. I found a few yellow C2/C2S/C4 from indy dealers, but they were priced in line with the common colors.

I went through a similar experience when I bought mine in the fall of '14. I didn't want anything in the standard black/white/silver range of colors. I wanted color. But not red. So blues, greens, oranges, browns, yellows were on my list. I discovered there aren't too many of any of these, compared to the popular black/white/silvers. I ended up buying a 2013 cpo blue from a dealer 1000 miles away.

People who order new have similar color preferences to the used market, so supply of rare colors ends up being roughly in line with demand. Since it's a lower absolute number, it's a less liquid market, so if you want to move a yellow one tomorrow you may have to take a lower price, but if you have time to wait you're just as likely to find someone that is willing to pay extra because it's rare.

I have told this story everything someone brings up the resale value...
When I tried to sell my SY 997 C2 back in 2009, the dealer offered me $44,000 and told me they would've offered $47,000 if my car was black/ white/ silver. I had the car for 3 years, so it would cost me extra $3 a day for driving the exact car I wanted. Anyway, I ended up selling the car for over $50K through private.

As others have said, worrying about a slightly lower resale value, which is debatable btw, detracts from enjoying the car that you want. Different folks like different colors, nothing wrong with that.

I love yellow 911s. Love yellow sports cars in general...
Do people hate yellow or are they that rare? I'm wondering
if resale will be more attractive or less attractive if I decide to
move this thing down the road. Sure, I tell myself I'll keep it
for a long time, but I'm known to flip through my vehicles often.
Maybe I just "settle" for another black one...

say: "Once you tried 'Yellow' you will always be mellow!"
Conversely, some of us who have tried 'Black' (& suffered
dreaded swirls on the painted surfaces) will never go back!
So horses for courses...or whatever!
It's a super cool color!

I think that it comes down to what tone the yellow. First off, it's not a color for everyone and then it's got to be the right yellow for the right person. Go for it. They do attract attention.
