Making to move from a Space Grey M3 into my first 911. Just had my order locked for a 991.2 C4S in Racing Yellow so glad to hear that there is still some love out there for this colour...

Yellow is a strong color. Those brave enough to get it and live a little are the fortunate ones. The rest stare and comment on what could have been.
I love my racing yellow.

My first Porsche was Speed Yellow. Not really close to actual yellow so I guess it doesn't count. I love yellow Porsches but my SA says it's the kiss of death on resale. I would do yellow on a lease car only.

Given the depreciation on all those options that I couldn't stop myself from ticking, the reduced attractiveness in the secondhand arena is probably not going to make much of a difference to the overall cost of ownership for me. On the assumption that the proportion of new yellow Porsche to other colours reflects normal patterns of demand their should be a few who will want it if I ever ca force myself to part with it

Only the pastel, washed-out looking, off yellows. The current bright yellow is just awesome. The brighter the better with yellow. The yellow on late model Corvettes is great, too. It has to be a pure (no white, orange, or green mixed in) bright yellow. My first two sports cars were bright yellow. Oddly, insects love to land on bright yellow...even though they supposedly can't see the color.
If you're worried about a hit on resale, just buy CPO. That way, you benefit on the way in, so any hit on the way out is a wash.

Some say bugs like yellow best.
Last year we drove to a Porsche event in Wisconsin--and, of course, the first activity nearly everyone participated in was bug removal. I struck up a conversation with a guy cleaning a beautiful yellow 911. He said that he and a buddy drove up at the same time, but his yellow car had collected many more bugs than his buddy's non-yellow car. He was convinced that yellow attracts more bugs. I don't know if that is true, Wisconsin at that time of year has lots of bugs, but some people were convinced.
