The dealership wouldn't have guesses that were this far off. They can see their allocations, upcoming and future. I agree that it is pointless now to do anything rash like cancel your order, but being promised one thing and delivered another is something to complain about.

It could be something nefarious like, they got your deposit and later had a customer that said they'd only order if they could get by X date, so they took your allocation and bumped you to the next one ... or it could be something else. Perhaps it was something innocent like backordered suppliers, but I think we'd be hearing more about that on this forum.

Agree. I am keeping my hope that it comes early - since i see quite a few members here getting their cars early.

First World Problems - I know this is SOOOOOOOOOO not something that we should be complaining about. Just would have preferred up front info that was accurate and not seemingly shady-ish.

My C2S build was expected to lock before the August closure. In mid August my SA changed, and the new SA called and told me I still had two weeks to finalize it. I was pretty surprised, and in the end that's part of why I was able to change the order to a turbo. But they did expect it to lock early and said Porsche had asked for that. So it may have been perfectly legit.

Price is up there. Did you order some Exclusives that take extra time?

What makes something "exclusive"? And does it impact build times?

Special requests, special stitching, special colors, I think.

Exclusives are marked as such on the configurator. And there more of them on the CA's configurator. You can even provide your own paint, leather, etc., samples.

Thanks guys. . I have seen options marked "exclusive" - and just thought they were marketing gimmick and wouldn't functionally impact an order/build slot
I understand the PTS stuff (exterior and interior) - and they only have a few days a month that they will do that - it definitely impacts order time/build slot.
Deviated stitching with standard colors shouldn't impact order times
Cheers

So, uh. Only 18-22 more weeks to go until my "January" car arrives. Sigh.

Sometimes the wait is half the fun...

I have constructed YouTube Playlists for "991.2", "Older 911", and "Other Car Stuff" with dozen of videos each. The amount of time I'm spending re-re-watching reviews and POV driving videos -- hell, even videos of people washing 911s -- is absurd. Ideally, I'd just forget about this and be pleasantly surprised in 5 months.

Aren't these cars track records coming 3 weeks earlier than stated lately?

3 weeks looks pretty standard. You shave off time in the port of Emden and on the delivery port depending on how long it takes to get it off the ship.

West Coast deliveries seem to shave off a little more time. My 991.2S came in 6 weeks early.
