HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991

Checked out the car again and took it for a spin. No overheating at all. Drove straight, true and smooth. I love it! Ventilated seats performed poorly, oh well.
Brought some pliers with me to pull the latch cable so I could access the engine cover... They didn't like that too much.
They had let someone test drive it before me and there was another man putting his stinking paws all over it while we were discussing warranty and getting the paperwork ready. He got mad when he was told it's sold hehehe.
Total out the door with Carmax 60m/100k warranty came out to $85,151.75
Now they won't sell me the car until the engine cover latch is fixed!

Looks like 5.5% State tax, which is kind of middle of the road, 2.7% state and county, which is a bit more unusual, and 2% property tax. While a lot of states have property taxes on vehicles, I don't think I've ever seen it charged at the time of sale. It's something they hit you with after a year of ownership, typically.
I was curious if I could deduce the city from the taxes, but no luck. The reference I found didn't show any cities with precisely that combination. For example, Phoenix has 2.7 local taxes, but 6% state taxes, so the total would have been 0.5% higher.

The car is for sale in Tolleson, a small suburb of Phoenix. The city tax is 2.5% which is a little higher than other parts of town. I realized I could have saved 1% if I had transferred the car to the Gilbert location.
I paid up front for 1 year registration giving me a total of 15 months.

In Colorado for example, it doesn't matter where i purchase a car from, or even out of state. Whom collects the tax differs, but the State and County where you are registering always get their cut...
Colorado also has a hefty 'ownership tax'. Added to registration every year but very front end loaded. It starts off as 2.1% of 'taxable value' (essentially sticker price, not purchase price) year 1, and tapers to .45% of original taxable value every year 5-8.
Just to put that in context, on a new $125K Porsche, in the County of Denver in Colorado you would pay the state, county, city, and RTD tax of 7.72%, the ownership tax of 2.1%, PLUS all the regular registration fees of several hundred dollars.... Over $12K in taxes, year one!
Even second year, you will pay 1.5% ownership tax, or another $1,900 in ownership tax, plus actual registration costs.
The state and county make FAR more money on new car sales than any dealership

Whenever I see a lower than average price, I ask what is the catch?

Was at this dealership last weekend. I did not see this car. I will say that even though I don't like red interior, this particular shade of red looks fantastic!
