Why are no sunroof cars attractive? Weight, looks?

For me: #1 is headroom. Although even sunroof 911's have miraculously incredible headroom, more than most luxury sedans and SUV's (a testament to the sheer genius Porsche engineers into these otherwise small cars), I'm tall, so every extra little bit counts. Then weight, then added rigidity (I'm assuming slight, but there), then I guess looks are another benefit.

1. Head room
2. Weight, 30lbs ish or more... which isn't insignificant
3. Complexity, if you have ever owned a "vintage" car with a sunroof and plan to own your 991 for a long time...they break and cost a lot to fix
4. Noise, sunroofs on these cars have been known to be the source of rattles.... back to #3

Default And

All of these and imagine what happens to strength and rigidity over time when you cut a hole in something.

Cracking the sunroof with the vent position on my 997 GTS is a great way to enhance/appreciate the PSE.

Other than that, I would prefer a slick roof.

I open it a ton and love the open air element within a Coupe, but still, given the choice, I’d prefer non sunroof.
I was actually the exact opposite - wanted a sunroof, but found a 2013 C2S with everything I wanted BUT a sunroof and went ahead and bought it. Today...I love the look and have not missed the sunroof one bit and would order one without if I ever decide to get one made just for me.

Older 911 sans sunroof. New 911 the glass roof is fantastic, albeit wonky with the roof sliding back on top of itself when open.

So, when I saw this car up for sale here on rennlist I was presented with another chance to purchase the car. This was the classified add. (https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...ition-cpo.html). Seeing that I didn't want to fly out to see the car in person I started looking for friends on the east coast that might be able to look at the car for me. I ended up contacting Nick Murray who some of you know from his You Tube channel to put eyes on the car after I discovered he lived in the same town as the seller. I was just looking for a verbal description from Nick but Nick ended up making a video of the inspection and posted it on YouTube for all to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia1KNXrrdG0&t=1s. As of today their has been 29,667 views which is kind of crazy to think about. Of course 1000 of those views are from me! LOL!
Your car is absolutely perfect. Basically my dream 991!!

Congrats on an outstanding purchase! Im so jealous!!

Something wonky on CarFax. Appears car was offered for sale 5/1/15 and was re-registered but CarFax shows just one owner. Weird.

Maybe a lease purchase by the original owner?

This seems like a great car, STG. What price do you think would make it a real HFS? Also, am I out to lunch, or are prices around 5-10K higher now than they were last fall? I'm wondering if I can get a better deal in Jan - Feb?
