I think so based on the number of views, he has had it listed along time. It's now out of warranty I would say with a mt high fifties.

Asking $66K
Sticker @ $111K
16K miles

Personally, I consider 2012.5 S versions in the $65-70K HFS, and non-S in the $57-62K range. At $66K, this one isn't too far off if you can live without the extra power and standard features of the S. Plus prices seem to be on the uptick, Spring is here, the DJI is soaring, etc.

It is a manual, which are hard to find if your looking, and a manual cab at that. They say only about 1 in 10 991's were ordered manual, and I bet a very small percentage of those were cabriolets, so if you ARE looking for a manual cab non-S, might be worth negotiating on. But it is that same combo (non-S, manual, cabriolet) that is probably a reason why it hasn't sold...

Decent build, 20" wheels, Sport Chrono, nice color... Pictures look like they were probably taken when the current owner purchased the car rather than recently.

PDK issues...

There are plenty of threads in the forum about PDK failures and replacements, but I wanted to put something up here as it relates to HOT 991 purchases and the value of a residual factory, CPO, or carmax-type warranty.

I was just looking at a high mileage 991. It was a nice build, nice condition, 100% dealer maintained on schedule, and perhaps the least expensive non-salvage 991S I've seen for sale.

I went through the entire service history of the car, and was a bit surprised to see the entire PDK replaced at 85,000 miles. Luckily for the current owner, it was under CPO. The PDK failure was actually just a sensor within the PDK, but Porsche considers most internal failures of the PDK to be a non-servicable, requiring it to be replaced in its entirety even if the internal failure is a $10 sensor.

I dug into this a bit further and there are a fair amount of rennlist owners who have had their pdk's replaced. Almost all of them have been under warranty, either original, cpo, or good-will shortly after warranty expiration, but this is something to consider on your used purchases...

I hope I don't come off as doomsayer here, the failure rate might actually be quite small, and perhaps third party shops will begin doing the internal PDK repairs that Porsche will not as the need arises, but it's definitely something to consider if your considering purchasing a non-CPO PDK, especially one with higher miles. I've seen numbers of $12K-$15K for the PDK unit (with core), plus labor quoted for replacement.

I think the PDK failures or replacements have been few. I have seen a couple on cars under 10K miles replaced. How they do getting up to 80K++ miles is still unknown. Will be interesting. Just like all cars, nothing comes without their maintenance and some bigger ticket ones.

Have a friend with a 2016 GT3RS with less than 3K miles that just had his PDK-S replaced. Obviously under warranty, but still ....

Thanks for your reply. I am looking for a manual cab 991 under $70K, which is a coast to coast search. I came up with two total that I would consider. I don't care about an "S" model, since I am not going to track the car.

Since it has Sport Chrono, does that mean it has PASM? I am getting a little confused about this PASM with a manual transmission.

Here is the second car I would consider. Shame it is in CA, which is one heck of a long way away from Pittsburgh. The first car I could take a day trip to.

Again, thanks for your help. I may have to pay a premium, since I am looking for such a hard to find 991 in my price range.

  • S comes with PASM standard, SPASM optional.
  • Base comes PASM optional, SPASM not available.
  • Sport Chrono does not 'include' PASM on a base. PASM must be separately optioned.
  • Sport chrono gives you dynamic engine mounts, 'sport plus' button that remaps some engine and transmission settings.

I really like the PASM option... It allows for very decent daily-driving comfort with the ability to switch to higher performance (but harsher) suspension settings. If you never really push the car, taking it to the track, etc a non-PASM base might be ok for you.

Fewer options (notably missing sport chrono, 20" wheels, sport design steering wheel, PDLS, etc), but lower miles. From a Porsche dealer, but not CPO

Personally, I think if you watch this forum for a while, you can do better... One with CPO, or a later model year, or an S model.

I have been reading here for quite a while. Finding a cab w/manual transmission is a drag, but that is what I want if doable. Seems PASM has some issues or at least that is what I have been reading. I will never use it. I am that guy you want to buy a car from to give you an idea of my driving style. Fast, enjoy lots of curves, but easy on the car. Thanks for your thoughts.

One of those where the accident on record HAS been factored into the asking price. They were asking $75K in the past.

Listed at 50% OFF MSRP. Insane. Only 15K MILES!!

Not sure extent of accident and details there. Maybe not too bad. The hit has been taken. Assuming no major damage, a great price point. In another 5yrs, will the accident matter as much? No. How much downside depreciation is left on it? Just saying, you can drive this for 8K miles a year for like $400 a month TOPS deprecation if not less and dropping yearly. Talk about a cheap ride.

Yes, it's a PDK obviously. Call them up and complain Maybe they'll take $1K off for pain and suffering.
