Like I've said. You buy a Porsche from a dealer, they don't sell you one. Try and buy a Japanese import car, and those guys will chase you for months. Porsche? You chase them.
Some of these sales guys see a changing tide. Bigger remodeled or rebuilt monster Porsche dealerships, more sales people, more 4cy Macans and lower margin cars = less commissions. Times are changing. All about pushing volume now. The business side is changing rapidly. Porsche in 5-10 years will be very different than today.
I guess success is measured in different ways. Having the Macan be Porsche's #1 selling model is a huge feat for a "sports car" company. To others, a sports car company having a cross-over SUV be their #1 selling model is a problem.
I'll just enjoy my car for now
