Anyway ......

Regarding PPI's ...

How have some of guys found independent guys doing them? Sometimes there's not another Porsche dealer nearby.

How much have you been charged for a dealer PPI? Does that include a cosmetic inspection?

I'm the kind of guy that also needs to set my own eyes on the car. Have never found anyone who is as critical as myself.

Like mentioned, you need to have a wide open search in order to find the car you're looking for. Many times you're not lucky enough to find one close to home.

Fortunately for me, there were Porsche dealerships nearby, I have no problem taking it to an Indy.

First one was free, the dealer paid for it, second one was $198. I asked the mechanic to check for any modifications, paint imperfections like paint chips, etc. Both mechanics had no issues do that.

I would never buy a car site unseen. After the PPI, even though the mechanic said, it's as perfect as it gets. I still fly their to check it out myself.

Colorado is a small market for luxury cars and prices are more expensive than the bigger markets like Texas, Florida, and California. For me, I have to look nationwide to get the best deals.

Well it's around $32K off of MSRP and has a warranty through March, 2020. It's a driver's car with manual, PSE, SC, etc.

Looks clean too.

What I didn't like were the miles. 12,000 miles for a two year old 911S just seemed high. Granted, that's 6K miles a year which is peanuts in the real world but extensive in the Porsche world. If it had maybe 5 or 6K miles it might be more of a deal.

I've definitely seen better deals in this thread and think this one will come down.

I had a PPI done at Champion Motorsport and they do not use a paint meter, but said they do visually inspect. Cost was $249. Had a PPI done at Trophy Performance in Las Vegas for $199, not sure if they used a paint meter but the car I brought them (the Carmax one) was pretty much brand new so there wasn't even anything to write up other than tire tread depth. I would probably trust the guys at Trophy over a dealer, not to say that the dealer is a bad choice.

We can argue all day about cars, specs, deals. Happy to do so. This is a public forum where people post opinions. You think that car is a hot deal - great. I do not. Let's debate.

What is not ok are the condescending, eye-rolling comments. It's not cool and I'm calling you out on it.

Back to the cars.
Hiyas, Spiderv6 (great response by the way)....here's how i see the price of the car in question. By my (perhaps dated) calcs, and based on approximations of Porsche Financial Services residuals on leased cars, that 2014 C2S (msrp $119,775, less than 7.5k miles per year) is worth about $87,435 at the retail level. The bonus there is the relatively low mileage which accounts for a 4% bonus so to speak when determining its value. Of course, the dealer has in and around a 10% margin built in to that price so it should trade for even less than advertised (low $80s if one is to get a good deal).

Here's a thread that i started on the subject matter.....

Obie, for someone who has constantly criticized, mocked, and attempted to make fun of this thread, it's quite amusing that you can't stay away from it. Why is that? Inquiring minds want to know?

Here's a kind of unusual question.... Do you know of any Ice Blue Metallic 911s in Southern California? I'm considering ordering one as a PTS and feel obliged to see one in the "flesh" before I do. Thanks!

No. You'll probably get a better answer in the "custom ordering" thread you posted in.
