Just like we've all experienced. Looks can be deceiving. Under the surface there can be LOTS of baggage and drama. You don't marry a girl on the first date or off a picture! Same advice to the girls out there. Guys aren't any better. Make wise choices.

Bad car purchase (or life) decisions can be very costly in the long run
That would have been me that got the PPI. $260 down the drain....good car, lots of life left, but needs some attention for sure.

Sometimes you win some, and sometimes you lose. $260 is nothing compared to the surprises you'd have after spending over $70K or whatever sight unseen.

I've spent money on PPI's, airline tickets, etc. on cars that didn't work out. Was much better doing that than making an expensive mistake.

Sorry Dawg... It did look like a nice car! Did the dealer offer any further price incentive or were they holding firm at $60K?

Possible scam alert!
I spotted this 2014 991 C2 posted on cars.com from two different sellers at different locations with a different pricing.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...8953/overview/
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...9799/overview/

The ebay listing confirms that it is indeed the same car.

There is another listing for 2014 911 posted by a different ID but in the same backdrop.

You are warned...

Guys,
What is a reasonable deposit to put down on a car, I've heard anywhere between $500 and $2,500. This would be from a Porsche dealership and they said $2,500 which seems high. Also, any tips on signing a deposit agreement other than ensuring it is refundable (in writing)?

I put down $5,000 because I knew that I wanted to buy the car, pending any undisclosed problems, and I wanted more Amex points. The dealership in Houston asked for $2,500 and made me sign paperwork that would have made it painful to get my deposit returned.

I'm selling mine and asked for a $1k deposit. Probably should have asked for $2500 but I know the buyer wanted the car and was unlikely to flake. If you're sure that you want the car, $2500 sounds reasonable.

I put down $1,000 on amex a couple of weeks ago to hold mine (they mentioned $2,500 at the beginning but by the time I got paperwork to fill in it was $1,000)

Keep us posted guys if anyone pulls the trigger on any of these cars.
IT HAS!
Subject to a PPI I will be picking up tomorrow. As a newbie to 911 this forum has proven to be invaluable. Traded in a 981S in mint condtion (8100mi) but could not pass up this car. It is spectacular in person and pictures do not do it justice. Will try to post in few days. Paid pretty close to asking.
Thanks to all who contribute here, particularly STG.

Didn't you just buy your 911? From Carmax, if I remember right? Selling it already?

Yes just bought it last month. Purchasing a 2012 PDK 991S to replace it with, already have a deal worked out subject to inspections. Made a little money on it and lowering my expenses quite a bit with the new one.
