They are car sales. "Getting rid of them" would mean dealer lots busting at the seams. Not the case here. These cars are selling!
Having an all time record in February is unbelievable. I mean, how long has the CPO program been around?? 10+ years?? And they break a record as the 911's are going turbo? Coincidence?? Think not.
Even try looking at 997 GTS's out there. Slim pickings and not cheap.

Definitely need more info. First of all, 991.2's haven't even been delivered yet and no trade ins have happened yet regarding a sale.
Second of all, from all I've heard, the doors aren't being broken down with 991.2 orders.
I assume a lot has to do with guys new to the brand and getting in at reasonable deals like posted here. A lot of guys moving up from BMW, Benz, etc. Almost 3K views a day here, and someone is reading.
Also, CPO sales mentioned include all models too, not just 911's. Porsche has been having record breaking sales, so it's expected the brand is getting more appealing to a broader audience.

Anyway, I'll try and get some more insight into this. I'm a bit curious myself.
As another point, Porsche has turned into quite a good SUV and Crossover marketer. Look at the #'s. Last year 911 sales were pretty flat from memory. Look where the all the growth has been. Cayenne and Macan.

[QUOTE=STG991;13068679]Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle sales in the U.S. were 1,268 for February 2016, an increase of 33.5 percent compared to the same period last year. February represented the best CPO sales month for PCNA since the inception of the program.
Unbelievable
^^^^ Wow ^^^^ This thread is a huge cheerleader for CPO sales! Pre-owned 911's are HOTT deals!
Well I guess I was one of those statistics  I was not sure what I would receive to show my GTS was CPO'd. Well that question was answered when I received this beautiful presentation box containing a personalized Certificate of Authenticity, a credit card size Card with my name, car details, VIN, CPO dates, etc, a "Welcome to Porsche" letter including other various literature and of course a Porsche pen! Quite a surprise

Big AL, nice to hear from you! Don't be a stranger.
Great find. A GTS that can be had for like $100K is a sweet deal. SPASM and manual. You're all set!

Jan/Feb traditionally slow months for sports cars.
Macan's starting to hit the used market and are being sold like hot cakes. Much of the record Feb CPO sales are accounted to them.
Nice and unique 991's are hard to find for dealers to put on the lots. They're just not coming to market.
The jury is out with most 991.1 owners regarding the 991.2. Many are waiting to see/drive it in person before making a final judgment.
