Exactly this. Add to the list of demerits that on brighter colors, the entire roof of the car contrasts.

I know all about the problems with the sunroof. This has just been my observation in the market. Cars with no sunroof stayed on the market for longer, that's it. At least this was the case with a few 911.1 to be more precise.

I think some are confusing enthusiasts for the general public. Those who track (or aspire to) will not want a sunroof. But it's a small percentage who actually use their cars this way.
I think, overall, to the general public, a sunroof is a plus.

It is for me! I love my glass sunroof.

I think i'm on my 9th 911, and the first 3 i had sunroofs. Never again. I live in the Midwest so they were not useable year round, but eventually i always had issues with them, and i did open and close them so it was not for not using them. If you really want an open top car and will use it regularly, i'd highly recommend just buying a vert. as long as you can keep it in a garage.

I have a fairly high skin cancer risk, so verts have never appealed to me. I also just don't like feeling exposed like that while in a car... Not to mention my hair that would get
tangled like crazy (yes, I'm a female). When I want open air driving, I hop on my Indian motorcycle.
I've had several cars and trucks with sunroofs. Never had an issue. I may not slide them open all the way a lot, but I do pop them a good majority of the time. Just my experience with them. My M2 had no sunroof and I did miss it.

** I will admit the Spyder has peaked my interest though! I've built a couple just for funsies.

Default This is just not true

Non sunroof cars normally sell the same day they are listed. You may have 1 example of a base painted turd brown or something but no data to support your claim.

Hey guys - long time lurker, first time poster. I’ve got a deposit down holding a Guards Red 2012 991.1 with a manual transmission from Ryan Friedman Motorcars. I spoke with him at length on Monday about the car was very helpful. I know the reputation for his deals are that he curates clean cars, but you pay more for them. Given the market, I know the car is overpriced (maybe by $5k-$10k?) but I’m keen on this color, the low options and the manual trans. This is probably how I would have spec’d it from the beginning.

Any thoughts? Feedback? This is my first Porsche and I’m pretty excited to join the club!

I’ve looked at that car a few times now online thinking how clean it looked. Guards red is such a good color. I wouldn’t sweat the price so much if it’s really the car you want. I say do it. Finding good cars will only get harder as time goes by; mileage goes up, accidents, Shipping them overseas.

enjoy it. It looks like a beauty

There is a gaggle of us that are on the look out for sunroof delete. It is a bargaining chip in a way...I told the seller, I'd love to have your car but with it having no sunroof, I was concerned (Not!) Then I made a lower offer for the sunroof lacking car. he knocked off some bogus fees the dealership had attached...saved all of $750....spent $78,500 for the 2013.1 Carrera S with 35,000 miles, CPO.

After driving the car at the track this past weekend, 6/5 - 6/6....this car was worth every penny:
  • 991.1 Carrera # 35,000 miles,
  • PDK, no Sports Chrono,
  • Sunroof delete (I had to have sunroof delete, on my must have list as was NO Sport Chrono)
  • PASM comes as standard
  • PTV comes as standard
  • Wind deflector for brake cooling, that were on the car.
  • Extra engine cooling for hot climates, a "Unicorn" option, don't know exactly what it is,
  • Tinted windows
