HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991

If you can, go private party. I always go that route and consign my current car. Private party cars are cheaper, I can typically get service records, and I would rather buy a car from a vetted enthusiast than ANY dealer that I don't have a personal relationship with. Many sellers love their cars and feel very strongly that it should go to a good home: dealers and salespeople just want to make a buck and have often checked their moral compass at the door. Not all, but many.
Picked up this one owner well equipped little gem last week for $47k w/ 36,000 miles. Carrera white & Luxor beige. Private sale, clean CarFax, complete service records and spotless dealer PPI.
PDK, Premium Package Plus, Bose, PDLS, ParkAssist, Sport Chrono, Power Sport Seats (14-way), Clear glass tail lights, 20” Carrera S wheel, Sunroof, SportDesign steering wheel.
(I had the wheels powder coated and changed the side markers to clear)

wow definitely a steal!
I got a 33k mile 2013 black for 50k, without sport chrono, with tires and brakes at about 30-40%...and it was like a 4 owner car i believe
maybe cars are a little pricier in greater NY than the south if anyone can confirm?

Yeah, I wonder if it’s just the typical summer bump in demand or something else. I’m itching to buy since I sold my Turbo a few weeks ago but I can’t bring myself to pay more than I saw cars going for a few months ago. A C2S with average miles and build is a mid $80s car all day long, IMO, but I’m seeing more and more come to market in the high $90s. May have to wait until the fall when the market cools down a bit. It’s not like I don’t have unrestricted access to my, now working from home, wife’s suv in addition to my ‘74 911 when I need a bit of fun. That being said, if anybody knows of a good PTS 991.2 that’s available, I will overpay for one of those! (Not the Ultraviolet or Stone Grey cars currently on the market, wife vetoed both)

What these comparisons of private party vs dealer often miss is the benefit of the sales tax offset on the trade-in. Where i live that's 10% - so it's material. Usually enough to offset the difference between a private party sale and a trade-in. If those two are close, then the trade-in route is just a lot less hassle...
1) lives in CA (no tax credit)
2) lives in a place with no sales tax (several states)
3) is not trading in for another expensive car (which often happens; many people decide they don't need a $80k 3rd/4th/5th car).
If I were selling a car and that weren't the case, I probably wouldn't try a private party sale. You aren't going to get dealer retail in a private party sale, ever, unless the car is a magical PTS or something similar. Best to trade it in and not waste time. Perhaps that is why most of the private party cars listed here are so insanely priced? I mean, there is a 2013 C4S (admittedly a nice build) for $80k up right now. You can pick up a private party 2015 GTS for easily that. I don't think a dealer could sell the car for what this person is asking, even with a CPO thrown in.

Here you go. Not exactly a ‘Hot For Sale’ price at $92795, plus you’re going to have pony up ~1500 to get it to the mainland, but that color..........

Yeah, just be patient! There is a lot more 991.1 inventory on the market right now than there was 2 years ago: roughly double the number of pages on cars.com. I can't imagine that the number of buyers has doubled as well. I don't need to expand on the uncertain and very dark outlook for the economy until a vaccine is found. We all know the kinds of deals that were available on P-cars post 2008 through 2010-11.

Thanks for sharing! Color looks awesome, but would have been nice to have at full leather. Options are lighter than I expected for on a PTS car, original build was $114k.

I saw this one listed. It's not CPO (three owners - one for only 2 months), but it's also about $7K cheaper than anything else with this kind of mileage.
If I were looking to spend around $90K, I'd be all over this.
2017 Miami Blue C2S, manual, slick roof, 15K miles, MSRP $120,420.

This same dealer has a CPO car for $98K. MSRP $119,805.
2017 GBM C2S, manual, slick roof, 13K miles.

Agreed, full leather makes such a difference in the feel of the interior. Of the 5 or 6 PTS 991.2 Base models I’ve found over the last year none have had full leather. I really wish I had stepped up and built a 2019, but the window was closed by the time I considered it.
