Good to see this thread return...I'm sure many others, like me, sent a strongly worded message to the moderator. I have not been back in several days since when the view count drops they can see the error of their ways.
Lets just never list any cars from TEXAS CARS DIRECT!!!
Maybe that was the last straw!
The moderator's issue is posting ads from non-advertisers, which has gone on forever.
On another note, Several years ago we purchased a MB CLK convertible for my wife at TX Cars Direct...they were straight shooters basically selling lease return MBs at very competitive prices, much lower than dealer. They have a building full of cars, give u a list of the cars with prices, and let u look and drive what u like. The price is the price, they don't negotiate, if u find something wrong they correct it and the price is still the price. (I took exception to one tire and they put a new matching tire on. Never understood how a 14K mi. car needed one tire) Based on my experience I'd have no issue buying from them again.
I would like to suggest that this thread stick with its original purpose and not have all the discussions which have nothing to do with actual cars for sale. The other discussions can be separate threads and people who are interested in the topic can participate there - same things with all the graphics which people post which add nothing to finding a good buy on a 911.1.
Guys, to keep this thread alive, do not post links to non member ads. Those should be reported. Same for dealers pretending to be private sellers.
Thanks
Bob, please clarify further so everyone understands here.
Do you mean post no links to "non-Rennlist sponsor" ads? Do you have a complete list of current Rennlist sponsors? How are we supposed to know who is/isn't a sponsor? Is this somewhere in plain sight and easily accessible?
As an FYI I have sent you multiple threads many which are "for sale" ones on other boards that have links in every post. Nothing has been done with those, nor has a warning been given in the thread. Why are we being singled out here?
Guys post links ALL DAY on all boards to "non-Rennlist" sponsors. Will need 5x as many moderators to police all that. I suggest you deal with those breaking the rules one on one rather than punishing the masses and closing a whole thread.
Also, many members keep asking me for explanations for moderator actions which I don't know or can't explain. I think the 1,000's of members here need some clarity here. I don't want this turning into a another time bomb and you probably don't either. The fire seems to still be smoldering.
I can't police the actions of the 1,000's of guys who post here and millions who view it. I don't control the thread obviously.
Each individual member is responsible for their own actions as the rules stand and should be dealt with individually. There's no "guilty by association here".
If you'd like to discuss by phone PM me your #. It's getting hard to piece together the storyline here based on the sporadic communication.
A wise friend sent me this:
"If Rennlist's corporate overlords won't let a forum do the vital act of being a forum over money concerns, that's garbage that should be called out."
