... or you guys just have more room to enjoy your cars than we do here in Europe. Canada has very similar number of cars per capita on its roads to that of Belgium who have the most congested roads in Europe (both around 600 per 1000 people), but while the 22m cars in Canada each get over 50m of road in Canada, Belgians & their 6.2m cars each get only around 20m of road which means they have to change a lot more gears! ..... Not sure if this concept factored in anyone's decision making process but never-the-less its an interesting take on the endless PDK vs Manual debate!

In reference to several posts made on other threads I thought its important to highlight the fact that the stats provided is based on cars I have tagged which is under 20% of cars made. In majority of cases results are representative but there are exceptions, as an example as I have already stated there is a definite divergence between enthusiasts choice of gearbox and ROW choice of gearbox in that majority of 50th cars registered on forum (rennlist & others) are actually manual where as this figure for ROW (non enthusiast cars) drops down to around 15%. Also given that I have only tagged less than 5% of car supplied to new markets such as ME & Asia I expect the real worldwide manual figures to be around 10%.

Another example is Canada, yes 7 out of 10 cars I have tagged are manual but that does not mean 70% of Canadian cars are manual as 80% of tagged cars in Canada belong to enthusiasts (forum members), a group that is known to have a manual bias. So it could well be that 75% of remainder cars are PKD, that means that actual manual figures could be around 34% and not 70%.

Finally, validification!
My 50th has been ready for some time but as I have been away on a long business trip I was unable to collect. So I rang the dealer to arrange collection on Monday and he told me that there has been a few interested parties in my car (which has been stored in their closed-off rear showroom) and one of them is so keen that yesterday he offered a few thousand above what I paid for it. For the record my car is geyser grey, PDK, Black leather/Pepita, SportDesign steering wheel, no sunroof, no rear wiper.

Response was an immediate and definitive no. 911 and I were rolled out of the production line in the same year - 1964 which makes 50th extra special for me.
